The muscle car era of the early 1960s and late 1970s. The era where Cars were equipped with large powerful V8 engines and sold at an affordable price. An era where cars where use for both street and drag racing. Oh, how fast the days have gone by. But don't despair, because one of the great American muscle car has returned.

Welcome the real deal. Welcome the return of the muscle car. Welcome the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT-8. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 first became popular through its NASCAR dominance and later through its television shows. It is now acknowledge as an icon of the muscle car era and one of America's most revered performance nameplates.

It all started when the Dodge Charger SRT-8 debuted during the mid 1960s as a response to America's muscle car phenomenon. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 was a two-door coupe that boasted an aggressive fastback styling and a big V8 power. Then it all ended after 1970 when rising insurance, gas prices, higher emission standards and changing consumer tastes ended the Dodge Charger's glory.

And then fast forward to 2008, the modern muscle car has arrived. The new Dodge Charger SRT-8 may not be the two-door muscle car everyone expects but it is a modern take of a legendary icon. It is now a sedan packed with a usable interior and plenty of standard equipment. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 is now a muscle car that the whole family can enjoy.

The new Dodge Charger SRT-8 model debuted in 2006 and was based on the Mercedes-derived platform that was used for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum. This model has four doors and is a little larger than the average mid size sedan. It had a front-end styling that was much more aggressive, had rear roof line slopes downward in a coupe-like fashion. In 2008 the design was updated with a revised interior which now featured improved materials and more upscale appearance.

The Dodge Charger SRT-8 comes from the Chrysler's special SRT (street and racing technology) performance division and is known to be the fastest of the Charger models. It has got a 6.1 liter Hemi V8 engine that is capable of 425 hp. Its powerful V8 engine is backed up with other SRT features such as a stiffer suspension, bigger brakes and a modified front fascia. It also has got a secure handling and roomy, comfortable interiors.

With the new Dodge Charger SRT-8, the muscle car has returned. The muscle car has been reborn. And what better way to try it first hand by renting it a LAS Vegas car rentals. You don't only get to enjoy the car but you also enjoy cruising it around Las Vegas strip. What a cruise would that be!
