Microsoft, the American multinational company, has made its redesigned Office 365 icons available on the Office online store. Office users who have downloaded the setup from office.com/setup were waiting for this update for quite a long. As of now, only the commercial (Microsoft Office Business or Education) license users would be able to access this rollout. Microsoft announced that the company is working on new icons in late November 2018 right after five years of the launch Office 2013.
At that time, Microsoft said that “the motive our design was to dissociate the symbol and the letter in the Office icons by making two panels that can be paired or keep separate. The new look of the icons is still emphasizing simplicity within the applications. The cleaner look of the icons has the reflection of Microsoft’s bigger fluent design-inspired overhaul. MS Office apps that are first to get redesigned on Office.com include:
• Word
• Excel
• Outlook
• Yammer
• OneDrive
• Microsoft Teams
• PowerPoint
It is still not sure that the remaining applications of Office will get some love in the near future or not. Office mobile applications are yet to get this renovation. For further Office updates and information related to your Office account (accessible via office.com/myaccount), stay tuned.
