Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and the Common Data Service

What are Dynamics 365 CE and the common data service?
Microsoft likes to upgrade product titles, and also the Dynamics suite of products has seen some name changes in recent years. We also have used new terms like modern workplaces, business applications, power platform, etc., and this may be confusing.
One of the most confusing parts of this is that the difference between Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Common Data Service (CDS).
Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, previously Microsoft Dynamics CRM, formerly Microsoft CRM... is no longer really a product. But don't panic. Before we get there, let us talk about developing the solution.
The Growth of Microsoft CRM and Dynamics 365
When Microsoft started creating Microsoft CRM, the Community had to expand the software. Originally all this was done by code, but Microsoft gave us the chance to perform it in version 4 without code. This allowed system administrators with just knowledge of data modeling, to extend the program beyond their limits, from the box functions.
A few years Back, Microsoft understood that the D365CE was an excellent product. The most important applications were advertising, client support and sales - the cornerstones of all CRM systems. Microsoft has seen a growing trend towards purchasing project management, membership, strength management and other applications.

While some clients still used aspects of Sales or customer support applications, many were using the stage due to their good foundation of enrolment types, functionality, safety, and excellent integrations with Office 365 and other Microsoft products. Above all, it was a relational database that was really simple to customize and create custom parts without learning barriers to know C# or .Net.
This gave birth to Joint Data Service. It inherited the basic functionality of D365CE, all integrations, the security model, reports, the user interface along with the automation engine, combined together with easy access to customization and enabling users to access.
Businesses who don't need sales or client Service can take the whole benefit of it and build the system they need without the extra parts and costs.
What is the Common Data Service?
The Common Data Service platform allows you to personalize the user experience by removing or adding fields, redesigning types and modifying the way data is entered. Do you have to list anything else? Create new document types in moments and collect data. Model these data demands and build relationships so that you may use them to create reports. Would you wish to automate a process? It's entirely possible. With integration into Office 365, sending emails and creating tasks or appointments is a breeze.
At the start of this article, I said that Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement is a product. This is half true Microsoft is now referring to on-premises installations like Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement, while cloud installations are named differently. Microsoft has made the new naming conventions to correlate the applications offered with all. So in the event that you need sales in your company, purchase Dynamics 365 Sales. If you need customer service, Dynamics 365 customer service is available. We also have Dynamics 365 Field Service, Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation, Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and Dynamics 365 Retail.
The near future of Dynamics 365 along with the Common Data Service
Dynamics 365 Sales bills invoices this basic platform that offers you everything in the Common Data Service, but with additional functions for sales. If the procedure, fields or forms don't work for your small business, we can simply extend their operation. Often within minutes.
It's the same for many programs. Particular Applications offer you additional functions with many advantages. D365 customer service gives you access to SLAs and case administration. With the D365 field service, you are able to plan and monitor field technicians, automobile stocks, etc.
All these applications are based on the Common Data Service and allow you to proceed beyond what was originally created by Microsoft. As though not all companies have the same needs, many businesses have similar requirements.
