Meniscus Injuries, Tears and Their Symptoms

It can be sometimes difficult Backhero Posture Corrector Review to pin down the root cause of a knee injury, but there are ways to find out if the pain you are feeling in your knee is due to a tear of the meniscus. A doctor will first evaluate your lifestyle and activities to help determine if you are at risk for a meniscus injury, ACL tear, or MCL tear to determine if that could be the cause of your knee problems. They will also do a physical examination of the knee joint to help determine if it is a meniscus tear or other kind of knee injury. They will also conduct specific tests to the knee area to determine the cause of the knee injury.

Two of the most common types of tests that are conducted with possible meniscus injuries include x-rays and MRI's. The x-ray can help a doctor determine if there is any evidence of a degenerative change to the knee joint or any kind of arthritic change that could be causing the knee pain. The MRI can help a doctor to visibly be able to see the meniscus and note any change or damage that could be there. However, being able to see a torn meniscus on a MRI does not necessarily mean there is only one specific type of treatment that will work to repair the tear. In some injuries, surgery is required were others require different forms of treatments. Wearing a knee brace for any kind of meniscus injury can really help. They can help protect the knee against further injury, or to help make sure your current knee problem does not get worse due to an excessive or awkward movement. Wearing knee braces can help promote the process of healing of the meniscus due to the support that they can provide.
