Bishop thought he had put his murderous past behind him, until his most formidable foe kidnaps the love of his life. Now he is forced to complete three impossible assassinations, and do what he does best: make them look like accidents.
Arthur Bishop, the master assassin who faked his death in hopes of putting that part of his ;life behind him, now lives a quiet life in Rio. But someone who knows who he is shows up and tells him, that if he wants to continue living this life, he will do three jobs for someone. Bishop tries to tell them he has the wrong man but they know who he is and if he won't do the job, they will take him but he gets away. He then goes to a resort in Thailand run by a friend, Mae, where he tries to find out who is looking for him. Later a woman named Gina shows up looking for medical assistance and Mae can't help but notice bruises all over her body. Mae deduces she's a battered woman and when Mae hears her being beaten, Mae asks Bishop to help her. He goes and kills the guy she's with. He kills the man and then sets fire to the boat he's on. But he sees that Gina has a photo of him. He deduces that they one who wants him, sent her. He confronts her and she admits that she works at a children's shelter in Cambodia and that someone told her if she didn't do what he said, the children would be endanger. While waiting for the man to come, they get close. And when the man's people comes, they grab them. Bishop is brought to the man who wants him to do the jobs and he tells Bishop that if he doesn't do it, Gina will be killed. So Bishop has no choice but to do it.
I must say that i am really feeling sorry for Jason Statham as he is being wasted and they have actually dumped The Mechanic so its not resurrection at all.

First 30 minutes typical Indian 90's love story, come on can you believe he is still saving Jessica Alba from a bad man who is beating her like a sand bag.....then the next 30 minutes some average action and the last 30 minutes a typical climax of saving your girl from bad ass villain, really ???

I am giving 3 out of 10 for just one assassination which everybody has already watched in the trailer, oh come on its the roof top pool scene otherwise its totally wastage of time and money but if you are a fan of Jason Statham then wait for the DVD to come out...... As an action movie this doesn't disappoint. You get everything you want from this kind of movie - invincible hero and lots of action. Liked the way he planned and executed the hits. Really stunning filming in the exotic locations from Rio to a idyllic island in Thailand to Sydney to the Black Sea city of Bulgaria.

Jason Statham is approaching 50 but he can still look convincing in his action sequences. Jessica Alba is still smashing in a bikini. High caliber supporting cast from the always serene Michelle Yeoh who is quite lovely as an old friend who runs a hotel in Thailand. Tommy Lee Jones is here too.

The story is okay not convoluted or pretentious. Not all of it makes that much sense but who cares - the gist is good enough for an action movie.

Bond has been so dull lately with dour looking women and drab locations. This is action for guys who like action movies. It's fun for a while, on a simple, single-shooter, video-game level. And for a change, the movie's stunts plug into Statham's pre-Hollywood career as a champion diver; this may be the most watery thriller since "Thunderball."
