Marriages are planned in heaven, but processed on earth

Last month, I went for a marriage invitation of my friend. She is my best friend since I studied in class five, and till date we are the best buddies. She took me as the witness of her marriage to a lawyer and two more people were also there from the bride side. Everything was fine and we were cracking jokes betweean ourselves and waiting for the lawyer or the marriage register.. .more specifically. But the marriage register did not turn up. We waited for almost ninety minutes. My friend was getting tensed and so was the bridegroom. Ultimately, one of my friends called his own lawyer and settled for Bandra court marriage.

The court marriage procedure is as follows.

Firstly it follows the Special marriage act 1954 , and is same for the entire Indian states. A notice is put up for a month, and seen if any objections arose for the marriage. The notice would include all the details of the bride and the bridegroom including the date of birth, family details etc. On completion of this one month notice, both the parties will go to the marriage register office and sign and finally get married.

But in our case, the one month notice was not given. So a nominal fee was charged and a subsidiary paper was signed and my friend got married happily.

Now was the time for celebration. We ate, drank, partied with friends and family .the most important part of the story is that, the lawyer was hired for all our friends’ marriage thereafter. He became our friend, philosopher and guide, and even one of our friends got divorced, he fought for him and reunited them. We have started believing him as a lucky charm.
