School lets out for summer and 3 friends decide to go camping.
3 friends named Stevie, Chris, and Noah get out of school for the summer and decide to take a trip camping. Along the way, they run into obstacles such as a drug dealer, mischievous little kids, and a "Killer" dog. The boys also have flashbacks of a friend named Matt, who died one year earlier to cancer. They also visit his grave along the way. When they arrive at their campsite, they notice a "Snake, Keep Out" sign on a fence. The "Snake" is a man dressed in black who rides a motorcycle and terrorizes people in the forest and the campsites. The boys also run into a lonely man who lost his family and befriend him.
Few people have seen this little known gem, and that is a shame. Unfairly snubbed at the Oscars, this tale of growing up in a cold, harsh world is as biting as it is funny. Three youths, seeking purpose in a largely uncaring world, embark on a journey of discovery and tee pee building which will ultimately change the way that they look at the world and the way that they look at themselves.

The summer after they lose one of their best friends, Stevie, Noah and Chris decide to go on a camping trip. They face many dangers along the way, including a killer dog, bikers, drug dealers, and fascist cops. When they finally make it to their campsite, they have to face Snake, a dirt bike riding, paint gun wielding madman who will stop at nothing to stop trespassing on his turf. Once camp is established, all seems well...until a chilling climax that will leave you shivering with thoughts of what could've been....A gripping, well told tale with superb acting, writing, and direction. A must see for any film fan. Be warned, however...you may begin to see a little of yourself in these characters....4 out of 4 stars. this movie is so horrible that i couldn't quit watching it, and then watching it again just to make sure what i saw was real, and then inviting my friends over to show them to make sure that i wasn't the only one seeing this .

basically these 3 kids go on a camping trip, and they have these ridiculous adventures and some parts where they cry over a friend who had died (but the flashbacks almost make u glad the friend isn't alive anymore so that u don't have to look at him). its been a while since i saw this because i have no idea where i could even find it anymore if i tried, but I'm definitely a *different* person for having seen it
