Light Steel House Construction

Light steel house construction is a relatively modern and new method of building homes. This method involves the use of steel materials to construct the entire home from the exterior to the interior. In this method, many of the advantages of a traditional building are lost. There are some significant disadvantages however. These disadvantages need to be looked at and discussed when deciding whether to opt for this or not.
 
One of the major disadvantages of the light steel house construction is that it uses metal that is prone to corrosion. The metal can be made softer and more ductile by welding, but this process also carries some serious disadvantages. The entire process is not without hazards and these include fatigue, stress cracking and corrosion of the welds. This means that the structure would need constant support, which in turns means that it would be susceptible to collapse at any time. This means that the entire process is not at all eco-friendly.
 
In addition, the construction cost involved is also quite high. Structures constructed with prefabricated steel structures are much cheaper than the rest and they also prove to be a lot safer as well. The use of nonmetallic materials reduces considerably the total cost of the construction and this further translates to significant savings.
 
Another disadvantage of the said construction is that it cannot be easily modified to cater for any changes in the environment. Light steel framing houses are designed only for basic functionality and cannot be altered in any way. As a result, they cannot be accommodated by changing the existing building into a more comfortable living space.
 
A final disadvantage of this type of structure design is that they are often not strong enough to withstand natural calamities. For example, the failures of buildings in earthquakes are often due to weak support structures. Moreover, if there is a shortage of water or fuel in the area where the prefabricated buildings are located, the entire construction could come tumbling down. So, as you can see, these constructions cannot be relocated easily.
 
All in all, the advantages of using light steel structure house kits far outweigh the disadvantages that they pose. For one, you will have your hands on control over the entire construction process. You will also have the opportunity to customize the entire structure to meet your requirements. This way, you will be able to provide your home with additional facilities such as extra bedrooms and bathrooms. These advantages are definitely worth the extra investment and time that you will put in the project.
