Perfect atmosphere and soundtrack as always, aswell as memorable characters.
I find this game a necessary companion to Life is Strange 1. BTS really rounds out Chloe as a character and explains a lot of her motives aswell. You can finally fall in love with Rachel Amber as a charater, only for LIS to then show that maybe she wasn't as perfect as the way BTS told you she was. The atmosphere and design choices really bring the locations and characters to life and make them relatable and desirable. BTS left me thinking about the characters and the 3 year gap between the two games for a long time after

The lack of powers as a game mechanic do not take away from the game and really makes you think about your choices. However, If you do choose to restart the checkpoint the lack of a dialogue skipping option is annoying as most cutscenes are slow paced.
BTS compared to LIS is shorter, more linear and a lot more narrative driven than game driven. I personally didn't find this to be a negative as i found the story and character interactions to be much stronger than in LIS (despite the sometimes cringey 15 yearold dialogue). But if youre looking for the same level of gameplay you might be dissapointed.. Life is Strange: Before the Storm is not quite what I expected it to be - watching Chloe go through her teenage rebellion stage is even more embarrassing than experiencing it first hand.

In Life is Strange, Max has very little personality of her own. Her entire character arc and the plot of the story is almost completely dependent on Chloe's actions. So why does Chloe need her own 'prequel'? With that being said about Life is Strange, it certainly excelled in immersing the player, something that Before the Storms fails at miserably (in my opinion). Nothing about it feels authentic, particularly when it comes to making choices. Or rather the illusion of making choices. Honestly, Chloe has dug a hole for herself so deep there's really no climbing out.. sad 90's hours. This is the BEST part of LIS in my opinion as it had the best story line and none of the individuals had any superpowers but showed how reality can be painful and good at the same time. 11\/10 Easy. Really recommend this game after playing original Life is Strange. You are going to understand Chloe much better, and you'll know who Rachel is. That's cool and still dramatic.

BTW: I'd really recommend to have deluxe edition too to play as Max, it's worth it!. Banal story with implausible characters. Not as cool as the first game when it comes to gameplay, but a nice sunday afternoon kind of game. A very slow burn that desperately needs a dialogue\/animation skipping feature.. To put it mildly: "wow this game is dumb!" If you liked the first game, you are in for a major disappointment.

Embarassing wannabe pseudo-cool dialogue that will make you flinch, annoying lesbian romance pushed at the expense of a good story about friendship that we could have expected and the main character with hang-ups who is less believable but at the same time much dumber and much more ignorantly entitled than in the first game. The only good thing about the game is its good use of music at certain moments of the story. Yet the plot is so poorly-designed that it makes you grind your teeth.. O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

It's only one week till the season finale of Before the Storm releases!

You may remember that for the previous two episodes of Before the Storm, the game was released using a rolling midnight launch on consoles and a single, slightly later, time on PC (Steam). Unfortunately this meant that many of our players were able to play the game only after spoilers for the episode starting showing up and being posted.

So for episode three we're doing things a little differently. This time everyone across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) will be receiving the game at a single global launch time as below.


This time is shortly after the first time-zones pass midnight on the 20th of December and it essentially means that the majority of you will be able to play Before the Storm early!

We can't wait to reveal this final episode to you next week. If any of your friends have been waiting for the release of the full season, do remind them that this weekend will be their final chance to catch up with everyone else and be ready to talk about the finale at launch!

We in the Life is Strange team love seeing all the fan art and cosplays that our community creates and comes up with on a daily basis and we try to share some of it whenever possible.

The artist Afterlaughs[www.facebook.com] was very well known to us from her previous work in the Life is Strange community. For Before the Storm, we therefore decided it would be awesome if we ourselves commissioned Afterlaughs to create scenes of Chloe and Rachel’s life that you may not otherwise see over the narrative of the game itself, and these scenes will be released over the coming months.

They’re not meant to extend the story of the games as such, but are touch points for you to imagine what life for the two might be like. We’ve chosen #TheOne hashtag as a guiding principle for this set of images and we’ll try to focus on scenes that you (or Chloe) could imagine yourself taking part in alongside The One person who changed your life in such a meaningful way that their very presence defines that time of your life.

We're extremely excited to today be able to deliver you the second part of our three episode season and further explore Chloe and Rachel's early days together. As their family lives continue to crumble, their friendship blossoms. It is during this trying time that the uglier side of Arcadia Bay begins to reveal itself to the girls…

Releasing episode one previously was a momentous day for us. We let our game, into which that our entire team has spent countless hours pouring our love and dedication, out into the world… We were fully aware of the privilege we were granted to work on such an amazing franchise and the responsibility to do the first game justice was great. To then see the overwhelmingly positive reaction from you, the fans, to our game was incredible and we spent much of that release day excitedly shouting to one another across our studio whenever new reviews popped up or discussion spread across the Life is Strange communities.

The next day we put our heads back down again and got straight back to work on episode two to ensure that it could stand up to the first episode.
