Realtek AC97 audio driver (not HD driver)
After installing W8 on a Toshiba satellite laptop, all went well except Realtek AC97 won't install. Re-installing the driver didn't work. Windows reveals a code 10 and mentions the driver did not install correctly. Naturally there are no sound devices present with this occurrence. Plugging in an external USB sound device (creative sound blaster) works perfectly, just not as convenient as having the internal Realtek AC97 sound device working. BTW, this is not an HD sound driver, it's the regular Realtek driver. Tried a driver download from three additional sources w/o success.
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php . (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Compatibility mode did the trick.

Not paying attention, I inadvertently posted this on Windows 7 forum, sorry.
Does anyone know where I can download a driver for my realtek AC97 audio card? I can't find one.
Download REALTEK Sound Card drivers - Softpedia.
Hi. I am new here and have not been able to resolve my problem by looking elsewhere. Could you guys please help me? My problem is everytime my computer reboots..I have to re-install the audio driver. I have my computer set to update automatically at 3:00 am and when I get up in the morning it has rebooted and I have no sound.
I dont know but for some reason this message keeps popping up and no matter which one i press it repoops.. with first one it repops after few secs but with second one it repops after 30-40 secs. And driver wont install at all. Please help its really annoying..
For those of you who have "on-board" Realtek AC97 audio in your computer, you can download the updated driver package from here.
I bought a laptop from a friend and it has no sound. When I tried to find the source of the problem an error message pops up which I am sure is the root of my problem. It is Realtek AC97 audio driver error code 10. Make: emachines xp, Model number: m622-uk8x. Can someone please assist me with this issue, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
I am by no means a technical person I have a month old Toshiba Satellite P -S laptop which I use in my teaching I do a lot of PowerPoint and often capture video clips to insert into the PP presentations I have Driver AC97 GeForce adapter Go Audio Realtek and Nvidia 5200 video two problems First one - when I switch to dual monitor Nvidia GeForce Go 5200 video adapter and Realtek AC97 Audio Driver mode to be able Nvidia GeForce Go 5200 video adapter and Realtek AC97 Audio Driver to use a projector I have no problem until I come to a slide with a video At this point the video signal does not make it to the projector The audio is fine In order for the video to show on the projector I have to toggle to the auxillary monitor projector only The toggling process often kicks me out of slide show mode and makes me look real dumb actually not too hard a task When I toggle to the auxillary monitor my laptop screen goes black and I have to rely on controlling the presentation by watching it on the projected image Not always ideal when teaching Second problem I have a ADS Tech video capture device and use their CapWiz software The software has a direct to disk feature which lets me copy video directly to the DVD burner in my computer The problem is that the audio is not coordinated with the video The audio is from to seconds behind the video It has been suggested that the audio and video drivers on my computer are outdated In fact they both have dates in the second half of whereas the ADS software was created in and contains Direct X I think that s the term controls which supposedly my drivers will not handle I would appreciate any input on this I hope I am not the only person in the world to experience these problems Jeff T nbsp.
Welcome to TechSpot.
Toshiba's are generally one of the best laptops around. Has toshiba tech supp. been able to shed any light on the dual monitor issue? I wonder if your 1st prob may be extending desktop to second monitor (projector) or possibly, cloning desktop to prjector.
I personally have not had the pleasure of working with a projector on a pc, let alone a laptop. I'm new to both worlds there.
Generally speaking, I've had trouble with any of "direct to cd/dvd" software features. It may be suggested to bypass this feature and use the full feature video capture to hdd then to dvd. This may save some grief with matching up audio feed with video.
I know you are not the only one having these particular prob's and I'm certain you came to the right place as many here at TechSpot will be willing to help out! G'Luck.
hi everybody, new here. I recently downloaded and installed the Realtek Ac97 v. A3.94 sound drivers onto my XP running laptop, and i am experiencing pretty bad popping and distortion in some types of audio. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
Try reverting back to the old driver and see if the sound returns to normal. Make sure next time, to get a driver update for your laptop from you laptops website only.

You have intel chipsets? what motherboard is it?
With Intel you have to update the Intel Chipset before you install the Audio Driver.
I have Windows XP professional, and the audio driver is C-Media AC97.Everytime I activate sound it make my computer reboot.I have service pack2 also.I try to do hardware updates, and there aren't any. Please help with this problem. Thanks.
Try uninstalling your sound drivers and then re-installing them. Also, please do give us some more information on the problem. When did it start happening? What were you doing when it first started? Do you have sound when you log into Windows? Do you see any yellow triangles next to your audio devices in Device Manager in your Control Panel? Do you have an anti-virus that is updated and have you done recent scans?
can't find c media ac97 audio driver i search the wholeee internety and nothing..only craps , can somebody help me please? many thanks..uhhh.
First place to look is the Motherboard Manufacturer .
Help! I have no sound - there are no drivers installed for C audio ac97 and I cant fix it! Help! OS is Win XP.
Hello and welcome to Techspot.
AC97 is usually onboard sound.
If your system is an oem such as Dell/HP etc, then go to your computer manufacturers website and download and install the correct audio drivers for your system.
If you system is custom built, you will need to go to your mobo(motherboard) manufacturers website for the audio drivers.

Are you 64bit? did you get the driver from creative? did you get a win 7 driver, or was it vista?
I installed the Realtek HD audio driver from the ASUS download site (P8Z68-V Pro MB) and all was well until I installed an MSI 560TI video card and let it install the Nvidia HD Audio drivers. The problem I have been chasing ever since was the Realtek HD Audio Manager popping up after the system exited extended sleep state (overnight). After much trial and tribulation and several Google Searches I concluded that the Realtek/ASUS HD Audio driver was conflicting with the Nvidia driver(s).
I did what suggested on one of the sites and that was to delete the Realtek HD Audio drivers and just let W7 install the default Microsoft drivers. Problem gone! Now I am curious, what did I give up and if I install the latest Realtek driver for W7 64-bit (v267) from the Realtek site will the Nvidia conflict return?
Generally the Microsoft installed HD Audio Codec does not have all the features the motherboard vendor's sound drivers do. In most cases the actual driver is preferred and should be installed instead of the generic HD Audio Code drivers.
The NVIDIA driver is for the Video and the build in audio for HDMI audio. It should not be interferring with the PC's sound and in this case Realtek. I would uninstall the Microsoft drivers and reinstall the RealTek and see if you still have the problem. Generally a driver causes problems when exiting from sleep mode. Actually on "extended" sleep mode of overnight its really better to just shut down the system and then reboot in the morning. If you want it to be operational when you wake up, the BIOS should have an option for auto power on at whatever time you set.
It's been a year since I migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7 which I downloaded Realtek HD Audio Manager R2.70 and audio has been working fine except the only issue it didn't come with 'Stereo Mix' preventing capability to record sound direct from the soundcard. It took me 14 months to restore Stereo Mix as each time I was told to update audio drivers I would update HD Audio Manager so what is the difference between these two Realtek ?
I installed Realtek HD Audio Driver R2.72 last night and it restored Stereo Mix which now enables me to record system sound whilst using screen recorders.

Realtek HD Audio Manager is a software driver used on Windows computers. It handles recording and playback of audio programs. It is required for many audio programs to operate.
While Realtek HD Audio Drivers is a tool that allows you to listen to audio in HD on your PC.
Stereo Mix is used to transfer audio that the PC is playing to recording software such as Audacity, so that you can record what you?re hearing.
When one upgrade their OS like in your case from XP to Win7 with the same motherboard and sound card it is always advised & recommended to download the latest soundcard driver, because the only thing that had changed was the operating system.
The advice is not to go to windows for it, but to go to the motherboard manufacturer, because it would be specialised for the system rather than a generic driver, which might not be as good, or even cause problems.
Dear all Plz help.i can not get sound from my pc although specker is ok.i installed XP version of Sigmatel audio driver and checked the onboard sound (Bios) enabled.when i run winamp it running properly but i am not getting any sound. i also see the volume control portion(Not mute).Plz help to get possible way to solve the problem. thanks all.

Fixing a friends computer, can't get the right drivers for this. Tried #6 on this page http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr. ome+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go!#BIO but that didn't do it. Anyone know what I can do about this, or where I can get it? Thanks.
Help. I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64bit (on my HP Vista 32 machine). Life is grand! My problems started when I tried to listen to the microphone input through my speakers. The front microphone inputs did not work so I downlaed the Realtek HD Audio Drivers (recently updated) from the realtek site. The inputs now work and I can record from the microphone through the Sound Recorder app in Accessories but can not hear the microphone through the speakers while I am recording. After searching the web I noticed a lot of chatter about setting things up in the Realtek HD Audio Manager. This app does not show up in my control panel. Does anyone know where I can get it (if I really need it). The Realtek site only has the driver download (not the manager). Am I missing something, am I confused, or both?

When I type dxdiag in run and look at the Sounds tab, my RealTek AC97 Audio is v5.10.0000.5750 and dated 2004. So I guess it's out of date right? Where can I download the latest one? (I have googled it but unsure what is the correct one to download).
try this. www.majorgeeks.com/Realtek_AC97_Drivers_d4400. This should give you the drivers you need. vicks.

Go to the motherboards support site, under your model and operating system. Download the audio driver and install it once more.
Over a year ago I got a Sony Vaio model VGN-C G originally ran Need audio with RealTek driver(s). help xp mce or months in it crashed and I ended up reformatting and installed xp pro sp I ve got mostly everything working but am having a difficult time with audio I ve numerous times installed and reinstalled the drivers from Need help with RealTek audio driver(s). Sony s website Realtek s website After intense googling I found that I needed to install an ms hotfix before installing my sound card so I did that and continued trying to install various versions of RealTek s hd audio device driver different forums seemed to recommend different versions to different users and said that they are all apparently quot the one for xp pro quot anyway the versions I ve tried are the installation files WDM and If anyone Need help with RealTek audio driver(s). has any suggestions for me I d really appreciate it It seems that other people have had this problem after an upgrade specifically when switching to Vista but I m still in xp and what works for one person isn t working for everyone else especially me so Thanks nbsp.
I just installed a new hard driver in a HP 734g computer that had a bad drive. I've installed a clean copy of Windows XP Pro an installed all the necessary drivers EXCEPT the Multimedia Audio Controller. Going to HP's site, it would appear to be Realtek AC'97 but no matter which version of the driver I get for it, about half way thru the installation the entire computer crashes and restarts. I have been working on this for HOURS an it's making me insane. I have to return the computer tomorrow and I'm at a loss for what to do.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.

How do I know what Model my PC is so that I can find the correct Realtek Audio Driver ?
Let's take a look at your system hardware specifications. Please follow this guide on how to get those specifications:
How to find your system specifications - Tech Support Forum.
Basically I've uninstalled the above. I didn't realise I needed it in order to be able to play my Windows Media Player and iTunes files I've gone to their website and tried to download it/install it again, but its not having any of it and I just can't seem to work out what's wrong! I've gone to the 'Restore' section under 'Accessories' in my control panel (by advice given on a website), but it comes up saying it's unable to.
I've been trying to fathom out the problem for near enough 3 hours now. and I really don't know where to go from here.
Thanks in advance.
When I install Windows 7 64 bit, they have a MS driver for my HD audio, I am wondering if I should install the Realtek drivers provided by Gigabyte? tia BTW, sound seems to work fine with MS driver.
Even better, get the latest driver directly from Realtek,
Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version.
HI EVERYONE can someone help me with realtek please, i download realtek 6.0.1 something from its website, my menu for REALTEK is not the same as it used to be on Vista----like changing sound room, and whole lotta other stuff can anyone please help where to get those?
The new audio drivers aren't the same as the old ones. Sadly, you did lose quite a bit of customizability (and in my case, my microphone went from being loud and adjustable to really, really quiet).
What would be a better option for a Sound Driver? I used to have "Realtek High Definition Audio Codec" when I used Windows 7, but a few months ago I installed Windows 8.1 and just kept the generic "AMD High Definition Audio Device". Haven't really noticed that much of a difference. That's why I want your guy's opinion based on AMD vs. Realtek - (Quality, Performance, etc.)
Realtek is for the onboard high definition audio codec built onto the motherboard. It is what you use when simply using a desktop or laptop.
AMD is the audio driver for HDMI, for when you have a tv attached to the computer or desktop. This driver is installed along with the video driver itself.
You should download/install the latest Realtek HD driver from their site.
Sir, I have downloaded realtek audio driver and installed it but it is not working what should i do?
Look in v?deo, My microphone audio is cut from nothing. Look my computer setings and please, help me.
(Windows 10) (Driver : Realtek Hight Audio Definition)
I've just joined and need to update my profile with my hardware details but for the moment I'll just say it's in relation to my A-Bit motherboard and the Realtek AC97 on board audio.
When trying to capture audio streams from Monty Python's Holy Grail (Camelot song) I noticed that there is only what can be described as a "wee-woo"in in the background.
Usually this noise is un-noticable but increasing the volume and editing the wave causes this to become really prominent.
Can anyone tell me if this is a standard problem with the onboard sound or if this is something I can resolve by updating the drivers?
Hope someone can help as it's really annoying.
How are you trying to record the sounds. By plugging the output into the microphone on your sound card or are you using some software.
I installed a new Radeon HD2600PRO (512MB) yesterday, and ever since I booted up with the GPU, I have had no Audio.
Windows XP pops up with the New Hardware Found Wizard and fails to install drivers for it using both options to install automatically and manually. Tried installing the drivers from the Realtek site and also tried the drivers on the HP website. Uninstalled the Unknown PCI device in device Manager and scanned for new hardware, still shows unknown PCI device.
The PC is an HP model a1118x (Athlon XP 3300) running XP Home. Any thoughts on why a new AGP card would kill onboard audio?
Have nice day everyone, I work whit a windows XP operating system mi problem is that when I use my headset the microphone sound realy low even when I put the max vol in the audio options but I can't set the advanced options (it's just grey I can't ckicl on it) even when I use the advanced options for the audio it's locked, I have installed AC 97 realtek and searching the web I found that maybe it's my "driver", what can I do in this case, 'cause my mic is ok, everything sounds great but in a conversation my sound is just to low and no one can hear me, please help; and thanks for your time.
Did you try updating your sound card driver?
You may want to have a look at this thread for more info on sound problems.
My friend did a redo of her pc and their is no sound. I see a Avermedia Multimedia Controller and a Realtek AC97 Audio Controller, is one of these causing a conflict why there is no audio? We've tried downloading the driver but it keeps asking for a cd? Help someone.
Audio keeps failing, but I can reactivate it by disabling and enabling. It doesn't fail all at once. The sound gets crackly and then, over several minutes it fails completely.
Toshiba Satellita A35-A159. XP Home with all upgrades and service packs. Careful about viruses, malware, etc. Recently purchased and ran Advanced System Optimizer 3 to try to fix the problem. 2008 Realtek driver installed.

i have recently built my own computer with this audio built into my motherboard. i have all the updated drivers but i experience very choppy and skippy audio, i DO have audio though, it just studders. the audio will play for a few seconds and then skip. any help is appreciated. oh and here are my specs, amd 3700+, 2 gigs of ram, bfg 7800gt, and a biostar tforce4SLI mobo.
Maybe you have too many other programs running, that are using up your memory/CPU ? Although looking at your specs that should not be a problem.
These could be legit programs or spyware programs.
Go into msconfig/start up and uncheck everything except firewall/AV.
Look in the Task Manager and see if anything is running that doesn`t need to be running. On most people`s PCs,that`s at least half of them.
I have a Realtek AC Audio Sound card It came in a package with the mainboard etc I installed the driver and the sound seemed to work fine when I was not actually making the computer quot think quot But when i started a game or any other program where the computer had to do alot of loading and processing to do it started lagging It sounded as if I problem Audio Realtek AC97 am talking Realtek AC97 Audio problem to someone over my cellphone and I am in an area with low connection so that i only hear bits and bobs from what is being said The only difference is that I do here everything but in a sort of cut to pieces slow motion sound I tried updating the Sound card s driver it made it a little worse so i rolled it back I checked on the Soltek website producer of my mainboard and soundcard www soltek com tw There it said that i d have to update the Bios because there was a problem with the Bios and Windows XP Service pack and that that will fix it I don t know that much bout the BIOS and I don t know what it has to do with the Soundcard but when i start up my computer it says BIOS is not installed So i tried to update it but that only works in DOS But in DOS my Harddrives don t get recognized so i sit there with my little floppy with the files on it but not able to update the BIOS because it tells me error missing file nbsp.

To put it bluntly my sound has stopped working. I have made no changes to my computer.
I am useing realtek ac97 audio. My computer tells me that the drivers are missing or corupt. I have tried everything. I have reinstalled it, I have run maintenance on it, and I have downloaded and updated the drivers and still the same problem. I have also restored the my computer to factory defaults.
I know the problems not the hardware as i have checked it.
Any idea on how to fix this ?
Also when i run a diagnostics i get Hardware Detection: PASS Wave: FAIL Midi: FAIL MixeR: FAIL DirectSound 3D: FAIL Soundfont: FAIL Mixer Settings: FAIL.
What's your computer make/model (or motherboard make/model)? Your version of Windows and Service Pack level? First make sure all your devices are connected and powered on Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32 Click the + sign next to Components to expand it Click Problem Devices. Anything appear? If yes, click on it, then Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy Paste into next post.
Well, i have a new computer, i pluged in correctly my mixer to the line in and out on the one hand and to my receiver on the other hand, when i try to record with cool edit pro ( adobe audition) i can record without any problems on one track. But when i try to record a second track all what was oin track one is also recorded on track 2 . Why does track 1 get recorded on track 2 when I try to listen and record at the same time in Cool Edit Pro? my sound card is the basic one from windows ( realtek AC97 audio problem ) when i go in the options of the soundcard, in the record section, i can only choose from the list stereo mix or SPDIF . I think that if it stays on the stereo mix this is the reason why it record everything.

Hi folks I've been having a problem with audio output on my computer for a couple of days now I specify output because my microphone seems to be working just fine Anyway the overall problem here is that there's no sound I check the properties for Realtek HD Audio in Device Manager and see that I get quot This device cannot start Code quot I try to update the drivers but Windows tells me that quot The best driver software for your device is already installed quot I try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and that doesn't help at all Furthermore I tried searching for Realtek HD Audio in the Start menu's search bar only to find that when I right-click it the only option is Open which doesn't work and it won't even let me see Realtek a Audio HD problem has driver the file location Of course I've done what anyone and everyone would do in this situation and that's troubleshoot The screenshot attached is what came up Any help for this would be really appreciated Thanks in advance.

When downloading drivers, it's best to download them from the computer manufacturer or the motherboard manufacturer From the number you gave, I believe it's onboard sound not a sound card.
Hey, I am using Realtek Audio driver in my system cause i want stereo mix does anyone know how to change speakers and headphones drivers to Windows HD audio driver, But still i want stero mix driver.
The Windows High Definition Audio driver is a generic, basic function, sound driver. It does not contain all the "bells and whistles".
What is "bad" about the Realtek audio? Its used in millions of PC's and works fine. I have Realtek on all of my PC's (two desktops and a laptop) and do not have "bad" sound with it.
Also, please fill in the "My System Specs" so we know what you have. It helps use to try and help you.
My WindowsXP system is simply not kicking any sound out of the speakers or headphones. I have ran through all the Troubleshooting stuff you know . Do you have any gasoline in the tank Yes No. Does not solve the problem. Ran a scan with one of these softwares that checks your driver updates and indicated that the driver for my sound card that came with my E-machine 6250 bought 4 years ago (I think 6250) was not up to date. Where do I download the Driver from? Supposedly the Sound Card is Realtek 97.
>First check the setup CD that comes with the MB if you don't have it go to the MB manufacturers site for the drivers. >Verify that is is in fact Reaktek97. >?Go to control panel click system, hardware then device manager, there you will see the list of hardware click on sound. once it opens right click Realtek then you can click on the driver tab, there is an option to roll back the driver which may work. >I have Realtek on board sound and have six drivers on the CD that came with my ASrock board.>Link to Realtek drivers: http://www.officialdrivers.net/realtek-dri. Thanks for anyone, who helps me I have "an old fashion motherboard,, with realtek's VT1818S High Definition Audio 8-Channel soundcard build in to the Asus m4a77 motherboard. Usually with W7 windows i had to install the driver from asus's website. so far when i get to the installation point it says:
none of this package's drivers are compatible with your pc.
allthough, this time W8 did install the driver but its delivered by microsoft, High Definition Audio device. well. the card works, if i keep the speakers attachde to the front jack. and the stereo mix capturing doesn't work.
Try running in compat mode. Steps 1,2,3 of option one should get you there. You may need to ininstall what you have going then run this on the exe that you downloaded from asus.. good luck to you Compatibility Mode - Windows 7 Forums.
I have realtek HD audio driver; and when I went to the site; they had multiple downloads; I'm not sure which one I need or if I need to update.I can't click the update button on the audio manager as its grayed out.But my speakers are making buzzing/static noises and it was suggested I may need an update.
Driver Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp Driver Date: 3/27/2012 Driver Version: 6.0.1.6602 Driver name: RTKVHD64.sys This is my driver's current.Does it need updating? If so which one do I want?
Hi springfairy556,Welcome to the forums, Here is the link to the driver Realtek It,s the 2nd driver down you need.
Hello My MB has ALC898 audio chip. Should I stay with the default Windows 8.1 HD audio or install the driver from Realtek (which is R2.71 the latest version) My system is used for gaming BTW. Thanks.
The Realtek package will give you more features and sound control. Use the Realtek HD Audio Manager to access them.
I was trying to update the Realtek HD Audio Driver, but it failed. All I did was to download the latest version of the program from Realtek, uninstall the previous version of the program, and re-install the latest version of the program, but it did not work. I have tried re-installing the latest version of Realtek HD Audio Driver many, many times, and it still did not work. I even go to the Device Manager to update the driver software, but it did not really help because Windows encountered the "Data Invalid" error. I go to Services to turn off Windows Audio and turn it back on, but it did not solve the problem.
My only problem is this. How do I fix the installation of Realtek HD Audio Driver?
Error code: 0x0000000D.
I installed Realtek Audio Driver but is not working. Realtek High Definition Audio HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_8086D608&REV_1000\4&3ACC46D&0&0201 39.
This is the problem which i got in system information. Can i have a solution?
Select a Realtek Hi Def audio drivers here based on your machine.
If still need help, also post your system specs: computer make/model, version of Windows.
We accidentally deleted the Realtek Audio Driver from our ASUS Transformer Book. So, we now have no sound on our computer. We have tried going to ASUS Support website, which seems to have no help for us. We have also tried several sites to find a new download for this Audio Driver. Any suggestions or help is welcome. We are a bit weary of downloading new things, as we recently got a virus on our computer that we can't seem to get rid of. So, something safe and secure is preferred. Thanks!
In the past week I've been having issues with my speakers. For some reason they do not seem to detect my audio drivers. My little speaker icon displays "no audio output device is installed". I've tried many things, but they all seem to fail. I've tried restarting my computer, reformatting my computer, updating my audio driver, uninstalling and reinstalling my audio driver, downloading the newest update from my computer manufacturer's website, downloading the drivers directly from the Realtek website. For a while, downloading the drivers from the realtek website worked, but my computer would crash and then the sound would fail again. I've tried reinstalling the realtek hd audio driver through the device manager, but it gives me an error and says it can't install. I'm not sure what to do anymore, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I Hope someone can help me with this Previously I had the Realtek HD Audio Driver package installed along with Nvidia Audio Install Can't HD Driver Realtek on my win xp system Worked like a charm Could go into NVIDIA Control panel and there I had the options quot Realtek quot for playing sound through my computer or Panasonic Nvidia HDMI connection to my TV Now I have windows Can't Install Realtek HD Audio Driver God help me quot Talk about quot If it ain t broke don t fix it quot In the Nvidia Control Panel Audio Setup now the only two options offered in the sound setup window are DVI quot No audio Can't Install Realtek HD Audio Driver capable display available quot Greyed out Can't Install Realtek HD Audio Driver HDMI Panasonic TV It also shows sound readings for Panasonic TV Speakers Earphones and Microphone But if I try to switch from TV to Speakers computer it either doesn t make the switch and I lose the tv sound and end up with no sound reading in any category I eventually get the tv sound back by repeating the setup process several times I am hoping that installing the Realtek driver will make switching as simple as it was and that maybe not having it installed is the problem Here is the problem Win Bit keeps interrupting my attempts to install it with error message Install Realtek HD Audio Failure Error code quot - Can t find any info on that one related to win although one does support win searching Bing and Google But I did find mentions of quot the Microsoft UAA driver quot being the cause of HD audio software installation problems If I understand correctly it blocks the installation of such software and must be quot Disabled quot before installation I went searching for it which is with Win like searching for the Holy Grail and cannot find any mention of it in Device manager Drivers Sound or HD audio of listed as Nvidia and one which just says quot HD audio device I checked the Device Drivers and they are all listed as Microsoft Drivers Many thanks to anyone who can help me solve this problem Operating System Windows Pro Processor AMD Athlon X Dual Core Processor GHZ Installed Memory Ram GB GB usable System Type Bit Operating System x -based processor Audio input and outputs Aux HD Audio Device Digital audio S PDIF HD Audio Device Panaonic -TV- -NVIDIA HD Audio HDMI Speakers HD Audio Device Sound Card Geoforce GT Just updated this without problem nbsp.
Hello forum I have been struggling with this buzzing Realtek buzzing Driver Audio for such a long time and at this point I think I've tried nearly everything When plugged my two cables into the rear end of Realtek Audio Driver buzzing my PC The pink and the green it has imense amount of buzzing A minor fix for this was install Realtek Audio Device Manager and put the output stick from green to the blue This fixed the issue from constant buzzing but now when I play games any game at all there is a buzzing matching when I play Probably synchronized with the FPS I tried using my front sticks which fixed the sound issue for a small amount of time untill the stick stopped working completely I also would like very much if my back sticks actually would work properly The audio cable to the motherboard the one in the lower left cornor of the board was plugged in the AC ' I tried changing that to HD Audio Same problem In the end I even tried disconnecting the cable completely since it apparently just was the connection from the front sticks and the might have an effect on audio if unused Of course I also tried reinstalling drivers Currently AMD High Definition Audio Device and High Definition Audio Device are installed None of this worked I really need a permanent fix on this Nearly every part of the computer is farely new maximum - months old Nothing seem to work please help.
The "buzzing" sounds like a "ground loop hum". What else do you have plugged into the computer? Also, is it properly grounded? Improper or no AC Power ground can cause that. Even a defective power cord from the power supply to the AC power receptacle. Even remotely, if the PC is powered into a power strip, the power strip could be defective.
The HD Audio connector should be used as it provides some jack sensing that the older AC97 does not have.
My Realtek Audio drivers are not getting installed. Only the Audio drivers are not getting installed. Rest of them got installed. When I check in the Device Manager, "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" is showing an yellow exclamatory mark . When I saw the "Detalis" tab in the properties, it shows HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_8086D606&REV_1000\4&14B5779E&0&0201 as its details.
On my intel drivers CD, it is written "for the intel Desktop Boards D945GCNL and D945GCPE Esential Series".
Please help me so that my Audio drivers get installed.
I m running Windows XP SP I had absolutely no problems installing the audio driver from the disc that came with Realtek audio driver Installing my motherboard the first time around Unfortunately I had to reformat and reinstall Windows because my harddrive was being recognized as disk quot i quot instead of quot c quot causing alot of problems for me installing software So now that problem Installing Realtek audio driver has been solved but I can t get the Realtek audio driver installed A Installing Realtek audio driver message pops up each time I try to install it which says quot Install Realtek HD audio driver failure quot Could it be because I also installed quot uaa bus driver - version I don t think that one was meant to be used with Windows XP SP it s not listed as being one of the OS s that supports this driver Of course now I have no idea how to get rid of it and a balloon pops up from the taskbar each time I turn on my computer saying quot new hardware installed quot I try to install it using the wizard but it won t install What s gone wrong Bryan nbsp.
Try a different version of drivers, hopefully more updated from the manufacturer's website.

Quote: am using Windoes 7 32 bit, I don know about my sound card; how can I find it.
Their are several ways one would be og to your MB site and lookup the drivers for your card, it should tell you what it is.
The other is to go to device manager>click on sound device>properties>details tab>drop down menu> select hadward ID>Copy and Paste it and either we or you can put it in a search engine and it should direct you to what it is. Fabe.
hi everyone, i installed W7 ultimate 32 bit onto my laptop (EI system 1212) about a month ago as i was fed up with vistas slowness but ever since then whenever i play any sound be it music or watching a movie or anything the speakers make a horrible distorted crackling which makes it unbearable to listen to. initially i waited for the next driver to be released and downloaded and installed it but to no avail, the crackling is still there. one slightly odd thing is that when i uninstall the audio driver the sound returns to normal until i restart my computer. i am at a bit of a loss as i have also recently installed cubase 5 and virtual DJ but cant use them now! please help someone thanks in advance Paul.
On the Dell users forum, some of the crackling has been traced to video card drivers. Try updating the video drivers and see if that helps.
Hello everyone I'm experiencing an annoying problem with the Realtek HD Audo Manager and I'm sure it's being caused by the screenreader Jaws I already got in touch with my Jaws dealer but am anxious to hear your feedback as well because Freedom Scientific hasn't updated this issue over the past five months I should first mention that I'm not allowed to start Jaws without speech even though I use a braille display withou speech I have to turn the speech off manually If I don't the program crashes completely and just won't start at all Two weeks ago we used my computer to play a DVD on our TV via a HDMI connection We turned off Jaws and everything went fine Last week I was in a hurry and was stupid enough not to turn Jaws off and I've regretted that ever since Anyway the HDMI connection partially worked we got the image on the TV but not the sound In the end we had to tell my computer not to use the built-in driver Realtek going HD crazy Audio speakers in the control panel before the TV Realtek HD Audio driver going crazy would produce sound unlike the week before that That sound was still normal After unplugging the HDMI cable the sound coming from my computer both when using speakers or headphones sounded as if it were still coming through our TV high frequencies unnaturally sharp and low frequencies unnecessarily emphasised I went through all my sound settings five times but everything seemed in order In the end I lost patience and re-installed Realtek completely and now I'm struggling to understand the consequence Music and Internet audio sound fine but system sounds Skype e-mail otifications Jaws speaking etc sound way too loud as if the volume was suddenly turned up Also some sounds i e when you test the speakers or press the 'equals' button on the desktop are produced with an echo first the normal volume then immediately afterwards an abnormally loud echo I said earlier it was Jaws that was causing the problem There are several reasons for this Sometimes Jaws freezes when you try and modify the volume in the system tray Realtek works just fine when Jaws is removed not when it's not running but the moment you even open the Setup file things immediately go wrong sound-wise There is no weird echo whenever Jaws is in sleep mode or whenever music is playing So now I'm wondering is there anything I can do to make Realtek understand it should totally and completely ignore Jaws This issue has never happened in the past but they don't seem to have any plans to this Jaws bug The short-term solution would be to remove Realtek and work with Microsoft's driver but then I have to switch between headphones and speakers The problems I listed earlier do not take place whenever I connect my external surround system Anyone any ideas.
yes, I agree, I too am facing the same issue and annoyed a lot!
