In the months leading up to Kanye’s adidas Yeezy takeover and before the Ultra Boost and NMD lines had truly taken off, the adidas Tubular line was a revitalizing force of the three stripe’s lifestyle footwear imprint. Originally inspired by the 1993 running model by the same name, the Tubular series branched off into the literal, revamping the outsole with a bold oversized singular tube circling around the bottom for extra cushion. The Tubular was aided by basically any material combination you can think of. Perhaps the most popular of the group was the adidas Tubular X Primeknit, back today with a classic gum sole on the heel that shares a 50/50 split with a more traditional white on the toe. The signature ‘X’ overlay is replaced here with a contrasting Primeknit color in Crystal White or Trace Blue.
