Junior Galette out until training camp, Kendall Fuller returns

Washington Redskins linebacker Junior Galette says if they had a game next week he would play. But they don’t -- and the Redskins don’t want to risk anything. So he will sit out the rest of the spring, not returning for full-time work until training camp.

Galette tore his Achilles in practice the week before the season opener in 2015 and said he’s about 85-percent recovered. He has also posted pictures on social media this Wholesale Denver Broncos Jerseys offseason of him making a 360-degree dunk.

As his teammates practiced Wednesday, Galette worked with a trainer off to the side.

"He’s like a kid Green Bay Packers Jerseys at Christmas," Redskins coach Jay Gruden said of Galette, "sitting up waiting for Santa Claus and he hasn’t come yet."

The Redskins hope the explosiveness he showed last summer returns in August. If so, it would provide a huge boost to a pass rush that could use one. Galette has expressed confidence all offseason that he would be even more explosive than in the past.

"I’m just as excited as I’ve ever been," Galette said. "I’m as excited Wholesale Green Bay Packers Jerseys as I was in 2010 when I was an undrafted rookie. I’m very excited."

Here are updates on other injured players:

Linebacker Perry Riley Jr.: He had a walking boot on his right foot, the same one that caused him to miss seven games last season. He felt some soreness after workouts, and they’re having a Denver Broncos Jerseys doctor check it out again.

Guard Shawn Lauvao: He had multiple surgeries on both feet and did not practice. Josh LeRibeus worked in his place, and Spencer Long took the second-team reps at center.

Running back Chris Thompson: He’s coming off Wholesale Detroit Lions Jerseys shoulder surgery and did not practice.

Receiver Josh Doctson: He tweaked his Achilles during the rookie minicamp and did not practice. He said he expects to work Thursday. He participated in individual drills, but sat out the full-team sessions.

Tight end Vernon Davis: He strained his groin in practice and had to sit out.

Tight Detroit Lions Jerseys end Niles Paul: He said he’s two months ahead of schedule in his return from an ankle injury. He was able to practice.

Cornerback Kendall Fuller: The Redskins had said he would be ready for training camp, but he was able to work Wednesday. Fuller had microfracture surgery in the fall, but said after the rookie minicamp this month that he felt 95 percent recovered.
