Sevilla defender Jules Kounde will undergo surgery on his left groin on Tuesday, although the club are optimistic the Frenchman will be available for the start of next season. The Frenchman will have the operation in Bordeaux "as scheduled for several weeks" after the problem "dragged on for much of last season", Sevilla said in a statement. "Jules Kounde will undergo surgery this Tuesday in Bordeaux for minor discomfort in the left groin," the statement read.

"In principle, if everything goes according to plan, the French international will be available to start the 2022/23 season."
Kounde has been linked with a move away from Sevilla this summer, with Chelsea and Barcelona among the clubs reportedly interested in signing the 23-year-old, who has a release clause of 80 million euros.

He played the first 45 minutes of France's 1-0 defeat by Croatia in the Nations League on Monday.

The former welterweight world champion, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday after retiring with an unbeaten 50-0 record, beat "Dangerous" Don Moore in an exhibition in Abu Dhabi last month. The date, venue and rules of his fight against 29-year-old featherweight Asakura will be announced later this month.

It will be the 45-year-old Mayweather's fourth exhibition and his second in Japan, after beating kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa by TKO in just two minutes in December 2018, in a bout that was widely ridiculed.

Mayweather called himself the "pioneer of exhibitions" and promised to "put on a show" for fans when he returns in September.

"We're going to treat him nice, we're going to let him go three rounds, we're going to let him try to land his shot," Mayweather said of his opponent.

"I may not let him land one punch, it's all up to me, it's all on what I want to do," the American added, describing himself as "the puppet-master".

Mayweather said his "legacy is already set in stone" after entering the Hall of Fame.

He retired from professional boxing in 2017 after beating UFC star Conor McGregor.

"It's great to go into the Hall of Fame and the great thing about it is I did everything on my terms," he said.

Asakura said he intends to "use this opportunity to raise my name and my value internationally".

The mixed doubles pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto faced similar fate, crashing out in the opening round after losing 14-21 11-21 to Hong Kong combination of Chang Tak Ching and NG Wing Yung Hong in just 32 minutes.

In the Sindhu vs Bing Jiao match, the Indian was slow off the blocks as the Chinese didn't let her get a grip, racing to a 9-2 lead and then extended it to 11-4 at the break.

Sindhu began playing aggressively after the break and pocketed four straight points to reduce the deficit to 8-11. But the Chinese didn't allow Sindhu to dominate the affair and easily bagged the first game.

Trailing, Sindhu was expected to come out all guns blazing in the second game but it was Bing Jiao, who took an early 5-1 lead.
Although the Chinese enjoyed a slight upper hand throughout the second game, Sindhu kept it close. But eventually Bing Jiao sealed the match in her favour.
