The election for the leadership of Village Development Committees (VDC) and municipalities should have been held in every five years. But due to political instability, there has not been any such election since 1998.

The national election was successfully conducted in November 2013. In their election manifestos, all the political parties have been committed to hold such elections within six months since the formation of the new government.

The election will have to take place by June, otherwise the summer season will begin and it will not be possible to hold election until November. The coalition partner CPN-UML is also pressing the government to fix the date for the local elections without any delay.

The third largest party UCPN (Maoist), which is busy rebuilding party organizations, has not yet made any official statement to show its stance toward the local elections.

Other fringe parties represented in the Constituent Assembly ( CA) are also in favor of local election to be held soon.

BERLIN， July 8 (Xinhua) -- Net exports in Germany dropped in May， official data showed on Friday， concluding the past week which saw disappointing figures on economic performance.

Compared with the previous month， German exports fell by 1.8 percent in May， the biggest drop since August 2015， while imports rose by 0.1 percent， said German federal statistics office Destatis.

Net exports， the balance between exports and imports， narrowed to 22.2 billion euros (about 24.6 billion U.S. dollars) in May from a record high of 24 billion euros in April.
