Is The Ayurvedic Treatment Effective For Glomerulonephritis?

Kidneys are bean-shaped organs that play a crucial role in maintaining the whole balance of the human body. They are composed of millions of nephrons which are stated as the kidneys’ structural and functional units. Each nephron has filtering parts that are filters and tubules. Both of these parts assist kidneys in completing a principal duty called blood filtration. The tiny blood vessels filter the blood, known as the glomeruli. Tubules are reabsorbing tubes that absorb the essential substance and restore them into the bloodstream.

But what happens when the glomerulus becomes damaged and starts functioning abruptly. Therefore, Glomerulonephritis is associated with damage in the glomeruli.

An overview of Glomerulonephritis

Glomerulonephritis is defined as a kidney harming a group of diseases that provides irreparable damage to the kidneys' filtering units. It is also known as nephritis and nephrotic syndrome. When you have unhealthy or injured kidneys, the bean-shaped organs lose their filtering abilities and can not eliminate the waste products and excess fluids lying around in the body. A string of complications occurs due to the kidneys' inability to filter the blood. Waste products and extra fluids accumulate in the blood.

However, the more damage your kidneys procure, the more they move towards end-stage renal disease, also known as kidney failure.

Two types of Glomerulonephritis are as follows:

  • Acute Glomerulonephritis: It develops on a sudden note. You can get it after an infection in your throat or skin.
  • Chronic Glomerulonephritis: It develops silently over the years without showcasing its symptoms. Its objective is to lead the kidneys to kidney failure.
