The Indian Premier League, also known as the IPL is an Twenty20 national cricket tournament that is organized by the IPL Governing Council and is managed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The IPL is comprised of eight teams with names that are based on eight different Indian cities. It was created by BCCI in 2007. It typically runs from March to May every year.

Mumbai Indians are the most successful IPL team to have won five tournaments. Then comes Chennai Super Kings, which has won four IPL titles.

2008 - Rajasthan Royals

The team was led by Shane Warne, they won the first edition of the IPL against CSK with players who are experienced like Shane Watson, Graeme Smith, Yusuf Pathan, and Sohail Tanvir. During the final game against CSK, Yusuf Pathan contributed in both batting and bowling and played the biggest match ever in his career. 2014 - Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR became the second team to lift the IPL trophy multiple times. Manish Pandey, who let KKR run 199 total runs was the hero of the 2014 IPL final. For KKR, Robin Uthappa won the orange cap as he scored 660 runs in 16 innings while Pandey scored 94 runs from 50.

2015 - Mumbai Indians

They won the finals, with fantastic players such as Ambati Rayadu, Rohit Sharma, Lasith Malinga, Simmons, and Kieron Pollard. Mumbai Indians were the third team to be the winners of the IPL season more than once after CSK. The unity of all team members helped them be the winners. 2016 - Sunrisers Hyderabad

2019 - Mumbai Indians

MI was again matched against Chennai Super Kings in the finals. The final game led to Mumbai Indians becoming the champions for the 4th time. The final outcome was determined by the previous bowl. After having won the fourth IPL title, MI became the most successful team in IPL history.

2020 - Mumbai Indians

In IPL 2020, Mumbai Indians were awarded the IPL title for the second time, and the total 5th time. The game was played between Mi and Delhi Capitals, wherein MI won the IPL trophy by five wickets. This year also, the Paytm Fairplay Award was also presented to Mumbai Indians.

2021 - Chennai Super Kings

CSK beat KKR by 27 runs on the 15th of October 2021. CSK won the final match in Dubai with 192 runs , and just 3 wickets. They beat KKR by 27 runs. After their win in 2021, CSK climbed to 4th spot in IPL. Harshal Patel, RCB, became the purple cap holder. Ruturaj Gaikwad, IPL's most junior player, was awarded the IPL orange cups title.

2022 - Gujarat Titans

IPL 2022's final match was played between Gujarat Titans (qualifier 1) vs Rajasthan Royals (qualifier 2) on the 29th of May in 2022. GT won the tournament by seven wickets. Jos Buttler scored 863 runs across 17 matches. This included 4 hundred and 4 fifties, which is the maximum. For the 2022 IPL tournament, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans and Royal challengers Bangalore were all part of the competition. Gujarat Titans (GT), was the first team to reach the top with 20 points. The team won 10 games from 14 that they played.
