HP Deskjet 3630 Review [Specifications And Top Features]

HP DeskJet 3630 printers are high-demanding printers with high functionality and affordability. These printers are the compact multi-functional machine that offers printing, scanning and copying as standard functions. They also offer Wi-Fi connectivity and support Apple AirPrint. Having this printer after HP Envy 4520 is interesting as they are built around the same print engine; however, the designers altered certain things. The Envy model was wide and angular, while the new HP DeskJet 3630 is taller and takes up less space with a compact design. We will discover more about the printer further in this review.

HP DeskJet 3630 Review
It will cover everything about the printer, from features and design to price and convenience. Stay on the blog to know more about it.

Features And Design
The design is compact with a fragile plastic casing that may rattle while printing. But the HP Printer Assistant software offers a quiet mode that reduces the noise level and slows down the print procedure noticeably. Also, the Printer Assistant offers an intuitive graphical interface that makes you easily access diagnostic features, Wi-Fi setup, and scanner controls.

Setup And Specifications
The printer has standard functions to print, copy, and scan, and it supports HP e-print, Wi-Fi networks, and Wi-Fi direct, in addition to USB connectivity. Therefore, it lets you print wirelessly from your smartphones, tablets, or any mobile device, even if you lack a wireless router. However, the printer may consume very much ink with the starter cartridge, so you may need to replace those frequently.

Also, it lacks a touchscreen, so you must use HP’s app to configure Wi-Fi. In this way, you will simply tell your app which network the printer needs to connect with.

The HP app is compatible with Windows and mac. Once the connection is developed, it downloads the necessary drivers and utility software into the printer. The printer includes a 60-sheet tray and a 25-sheet output tray.

It yields print quality up to 1200 X 1200 dpi while printing. The scanner yields 1200dpi, and copying offers 600 X 300 dpi resolution. In short, The DeskJet 3630 is designed for modest printing requirements.

Here is a full specification of HP DeskJet 3630:

It consists of a 60-sheets A4 paper tray

Performance And Running Cost
It’s an inexpensive printer with a reasonable text quality. It performs well with a print speed of 8.5 pages per minute. However, the text output is a little heavy. The printer is great for printing routine letters or essays for kids’ homework. The output text quality isn’t smooth, which is the only disappointment we get from this printer. If you need a printer for professional work, invest in an expensive printer instead. Thanks to color printing which is a more attractive option overall. The DeskJet color graphics make the graph work brilliantly for school reports or presentations.

Fortunately, color printing is affordable too. The price is just £13 for the standard-size tri-color cartridge, including all three cyan, magenta, and yellow inks, which last only about 165 pages. It’s around 8p per page, which is not a big deal if you take HP 302 XL tri-color cartridge. The first page comes out within 14 seconds, and the Quiet mode makes the printer slower. However, with a tri-color cartridge, you need to replace the entire cartridge if any of them runs out of ink.

You may also use instant ink, a subscription-based service that costs £1.99 per month for up to 50 pages. The instant ink decreases the per-page cost to 4p on the cheapest and 2.6p on the expensive plans. It further costs £3.49 for 100 pages and £7.99 for 300 pages. HP says you can save between £78 and £516 a year in ink costs compared to the standard cartridges.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of The HP DeskJet 3630 Printer?
Like any other printer device, this printer model has pros and cons. We liked that it’s cheap, easy to install, and reasonable to buy. You can also use HP’s instant ink service. Plus, it has support for tablets and phones; what we didn’t like is that it is very flimsy. It will cost you relatively high if you don’t use instant ink. Thankfully we have that option. At last, it’s clear that it’s designed for home and small office use. This means it should not be used monthly for a heavy print job.

Conclusion
Undoubtedly, the HP DeskJet 3630 is good for the money and reasonable too. It is cost-effective and offers reasonable quiet, quick features with considerable print quality. It can easily connect wirelessly to your phones and tablets and is combined with a good scanner and copier. However, the ink cartridges are a little expensive if you go to normal stores. Instant ink is something that’s affordable and suited for color printing. It’s ideal for home and small office use. However, it’s not for you if you need to print too often. It’s an under-budget option for you when you print basics and don’t want many printed documents.
