USES OF TAPENTADOL 50MG:
Tapentadol 50 mg is an opioid pain medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic. Tapentadol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. The extended-release form of this medicine is for around-the-clock treatment of pain that is not controlled by other medicines.

SIDE EFFECTS OF TAPENTADOL 50MG:
Common tapentadol side effects may include: constipation, mild nausea, stomach pain; headache, tired feeling; or mild drowsiness or dizziness.

DRUG INTERACTIONS OF TAPENTADOL 50MG:
Combination with SSRIs/SNRIs, SRAs, serotonin receptor agonists and/or MAOIs may lead to potentially lethal serotonin syndrome. Combination with MAOIs may also result in an adrenergic storm. Combination with alcohol increases the risk for many of tapentadols side effects, including dizziness, somnolence, impaired motor skills and respiratory depression.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF TAPENTADOL 50MG:
Tapentadol may increase the risk of seizures, and should be administered with care to epileptic patients and patients who are taking other drugs which lower the seizure threshold.[37] Since tapentadol may increase intracranial pressure by depressing respiration and increasing CO2 retention, it should not be administered to patients suffering from head injuries, brain tumors, or other conditions which increase intracranial pressure. Tapentadol is contraindicated in patients with severe bronchial asthma, hypercapnia, and patients who have or are suspected to have paralytic ileus, due to the increased risk of respiratory depression.
