These steps may help you to download, install and update the QuickBooks database server manager:
Step 1: Download Database Server Manager
Database Server Manager is a bit of the QuickBooks Desktop file.
If you don’t have it already, then Install QuickBooks Desktop.

Step 2: Install Database Server Manager
Install the QuickBooks Database Server Manager on your server computer. It is the computer which hosts the files of your company.

Important: If you're an accountant or the person who hosts different versions of QuickBooks Desktop on your network, download them in order. Install the oldest version first and then with the most recent.

Close all open programs on your server computer, including QuickBooks.
Open the install file you downloaded. It's called Setup_QuickBooks.exe.
Follow the on-screen guidance. If you required to find your product or license numbers, here's how to find them.
Select Custom or Network Options when QuickBooks asks you to choose an installation type. Then select Next. Don't select Express.
Select the appropriate option for your network setup, and after that, select Next. Both the possibilities install the Database Server Manager. If the QuickBooks Desktop is already installed on your server computer, this will not overwrite any existing company data.
If you want Database Server Manager and QuickBooks Desktop on your server computer,
Choose I'll be applying QuickBooks Desktop on this computer, AND I'll be storing... We strongly recommend such option.
If you only want Database Server Manager on your server computer, select I will NOT be using QuickBooks Desktop...
Follow the rest of the onscreen instructions. Select Install; windows could ask you for permission when you're ready.
Allow these users permission to approach the folders that keep your company files. You may see these users at the time you set system-level permissions.
