Steps to “Reset the QuickBooks Administrator Password”
Step 1: Open QuickBooks and enter ‘Admin’ in the username field. Leave the password blank and click the ‘Forgot password’ option.
Step 2: In case you enabled the Challenge Question option on QuickBooks you can simply enter the answer to your question and follow the steps to reset the Admin password.
Step 3: If you do not know the answer to the Challenge Question you can click “I forgot my password” and open the Reset QuickBooks Administrator Password form.
Step 4: As discussed in the previous section enter the details as they are in your Intuit Account and click OK to proceed to the next step.
Step 5: You should receive a password reset code that will be sent to your registered QuickBooks email account. You can look for the subject line ‘QuickBooks Automated Password Removal Service.’
Step 6: Enter the QuickBooks reset code in the form provided and create a new QuickBooks Administrator password. You can also take this chance to review and edit your QuickBooks Challenge Question.
Steps to change the password of other QuickBooks users
Once you reset the admin password you can follow the steps given below to change the password for other QuickBooks users:
• Login into your QuickBooks company file as admin
• Open the Company menu and select the QuickBooks user
• Select Edit User and enter the new QuickBooks password in the password field
