How to prevent golf turf from going dormant in summer?
Most golfers want a green sporting surface, and prolonged dormancy can lead to plant death. Irrigation is an important way to prevent dormancy, and other measures can improve the ability of plants to avoid dormancy, survive dormant periods safely, and recover from dormancy football grass. Most measures must be implemented before summer coercion, which some managers refer to as "pre-coercion conditioning," as follows:

1. Increasing the cutting height can make the root system of the lawn deeper and denser.

2. Limit trampling: Minimize trampling or access to lawns in summer.

3. Cool the lawn: timely spray and cool the lawn through evaporation.

4. Avoid applying nitrogen in spring and summer to prevent the above-ground part of the plant from growing too fast and damaging the root system.

5. Cool the soil: Blow cold air to the putting green through the drain pipe, which is widely used in western countries.

6. Select heat and drought tolerant grass species and varieties, such as tall fescue, which is more drought tolerant than bluegrass and perennial ryegrass.

7. Less irrigation and deep irrigation can improve the root system and cause other morphological changes, thereby improving drought resistance. Minimize irrigation without affecting the quality of the lawn surface. Slight drought stress between irrigations reduced shoot growth and promoted root growth. Likewise, watering sparingly in spring encourages deeper root growth to withstand summer heat and drought. However, under high temperature stress, sufficient water supply must be ensured, so that the lawn can reduce the plant temperature through transpiration.

8. Promote root growth and strength: Take measures throughout the year to promote root growth. A deeper and denser root system can improve the drought resistance of the lawn, so that the plant can absorb more water from a wider range of soil. Drilling holes increases soil permeability, which can make root growth more developed.
