A few years ago, Android settings names and locations varied wildly. For example, you might have found the steps to change the always-on display in Display on one phone and the same you could find under Security in another phone. Later, Google has worked to standardize the settings locations and names most Android phones. The settings app comes with a settings bar at the top on almost every Android phone. But after a decade, you can find more added features than ever before. However, it is quite hard to search for a name you don’t know. Here is a simple guide on how you can search for settings whether you know them or not.
HOW TO EASILY FIND ANY ANDROID SYSTEM SETTING
You can follow these steps to find any Android system setting.
Open the Settings app right on your Android phone.
Tap the Search bar towards the top of the screen.
Next, you can type the name or function of the setting.
Tap the search/Enter button on your keyboard to complete the search.
Swipe up and down through the list to results to find the right setting.
Tap the desired setting to get the corresponding menu.
Now you can view or alter the settings you see there. You can also find these settings extended to Google Settings associated with Google Assistant and your Google Account, such as Autofill passwords, Find My Device, and how ads are handled.
HOW TO FIND THE NAME OF SETTINGS YOU DON’T KNOW
It is very difficult to find the name of the setting you don’t know. To find the name of the setting you don’t know, you can type the word that your settings interact with.
For instance, you could type battery, charging, and with these words, you can find Adaptive charging. If the first method doesn’t work, you can use another way to try typing words like the setting’s effect.
For instance, if you want to use the login info saved in Google Chrome, you can type in “password” or “saved’, both will bring up Autofill services in the results. Though it should be, settings search is not as intuitive as Google search.
If both the above-mentioned methods don’t work, you can still find it using a few renowned websites with a plethora of related content.
So, we have discussed a few ways to find the name of settings you don’t know. You can get the name of the setting you don’t know by typing the interactive words. For instance, if you don’t know the adaptive charging setting, you can get it by typing charging or battery as these words interact with adaptive charging. You can also use words like the setting’s effect.
