Then, tap the “Download” button to save the software to your PC.
When a file is downloading, open it directly from the bottom of the browser.
After that, you need to tap on it once downloaded.
A new screen will open on your PC when the installation is done.
Before you can start creating projects with the machine, connect it to your PC.
How to Connect Cricut to Computer (Explore or Maker)?
If you get a screen showing “Connect to computer via Bluetooth” during setup for the Cricut Explore or Maker, the Design Space software has detected the AMD Ryzen chip on your PC. There is a problem with some Windows AMD Ryzen chips causing problems with a USB connection. For these PCs, you can use Bluetooth for the optimal experience.
Note: If you connect a Cricut Explore or Maker to your Windows PC with an AMD Ryzen chip, we suggest using Bluetooth when using the Design Space software. If you still want a USB connection, use the j5create 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub with your PC.
For Windows
Make sure the Cricut Explore or Maker is on and within 10 to 15 feet of your PC.
Most PCs are Bluetooth-compatible. However, to decide if your PC is Bluetooth compatible, right-tap the Start menu button and click on the Device Manager tab.
If the Bluetooth option is listed, your PC is Bluetooth-compatible.
If not, you’ll need to buy a Bluetooth dongle to connect your PC.
After that, close the Device Manager tab.
Next, tap on the Start button and then open the Settings tab.
From the next screen, select the Devices option.
Now, make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
Then, tap on Add Bluetooth or other device.
Slide the toggle next to the Bluetooth and wait for your PC to find the machine.
After that, select the machine name from the given list.
Enter a PIN code 0000, then hit the Connect button.
The Cricut Explore or Maker is connected to your Windows PC.
For Mac
Make sure the Cricut Maker or Explore is on and within 10 to 15 feet of your PC.
Then, click the Apple icon and select the System Preferences option.
After that, search for the Bluetooth option.
Now, open the Bluetooth tab. If Bluetooth is turned off, turn it on.
Select the name of your adapter/Bluetooth module from the given list.
Next, you have to click on the Pair button.
Enter the PIN code 0000 and then hit the Pair button.
The Cricut Explore or Maker has successfully connected to your Mac.
Note: Mac will not always display “connected” unless the software communicates with the cutting machine during the cut process.
