How much does getting a helix piercing hurt?
As far as I know it depends on the clinics the master himself. I know that many people are still hesitant whether to get their cartilage pierced or not. Some are afraid of pain, others a reluctant because consider aftercare too tiresome. If you are one of those people, I will definitely help you to make the right decision. I recommend to check out this complete guide about Helix piercing https://glaminati.com/helix-piercing/ from how painful it is to healing tips and jewelry ideas. So, feel free to make good use of it.
I disagree with the other person who answered this question. However, it all depends on someones pain tolerance. I have a medium to low pain tolerance and I got my helix pierced about 2 months ago. I was so nervous that it would hurt, but the piercer made me feel calm and she counted to 3 and did it. My only words were “really?” I was shocked. I barely felt it. It was the smallest pinch. It does hurt more than an earlobe piercing though. And I do recommend getting pierced with a needle. Its safer than a piercing gun and hurts less. On a scale of 1–10, an earlobe piercing would be a 2. A helix piercing would be a 4. The only difference between my earlobe piercings and my helix piercings are that the earlobe piercings dont sting after you get them. With a helix piercing, the needle doesnt hurt much going in, but it starts to feel very hot and sore. Now, the healing proccess is a whole different story. After you get the piercing, it hurts terribly for months. Its the worst within the first few weeks. My most recent helix is 2 months old and it still hurts very badly to the touch. Piercing blisters are very common with them, and those hurt very badly. In all honesty, the healing proccess hurts like heck. Its terrible. I wouldnt really recommend getting it honestly only because of the healing proccess. If someone hugs you, it hurts BADLY because your ear presses up against them. A lot of times my hair gets caught in it and I accidentally brush the piercing with my hairbrush. I also cant sleep on that side. On a scale of 1–10 the healing proccess is a 7. Its so bad.
