How Gun and 7.62x39 ammo in stock Shortages Will Affect Preppers

The current gun and 7.62x39 ammo in stock shortages coming from President Obama's declaring war on the 2nd Amendment may actually turn out to be an opportunity for Preppers and survivalists for a number of reasons.

It's a major tenet of preppers and survivalists to be resourceful and turn perceived problems into opportunities, and this current development with the proposed new gun laws is just such a problem.

This is not the first time that we've had a major school shooting cause a bunch of insincere, opportunistic politicians to try to exploit the situation for political gain. Remember the federal assault weapons ban? It expired after 10 years. Remember when President George H.W. Bush banned the import of assault weapons in 1990.

The upshot (forgive the pun) of all this is that we've been here before and the odds are against anything really sticking for good. In just one month after President Obama signalled that he was going to use his powers as President to issue Executive Orders to enact some gun control, the NRA increased its membership by a quarter million people.

Gun control is just too much of a hot button issue for too many people for any real, meaningful measures to ever to get past the House of Representatives. However, what this issue and the debate does have a proven ability to do is to cause people to rush out and buy up guns and 7.62x39 ammo in stock.

Both gun shortages and 7.62x39 ammo in stock shortages demonstrate that the people want to be able to defend themselves and this is actually a selling opportunity for those who have stockpiled supplies.

Now I realize that it is blasphemy to suggest any prepper or survivalist would ever part with his guns and 7.62x39 ammo in stock. However, considering how much you really need and how much you have, you may want to think about selling some now, when it can command a higher price due to the shortages, and resupplying once sanity is restored.

Yes, that means you are taking a chance that you might miss out if real gun control measures make resupplying impossible down the road. But do you really think that will happen? And do you really think that you need thousands of rounds of 7.62x39 ammo in stock?

The typical infantry soldier has a combat load of well under a thousand rounds. And if there is some sort of societal collapse, you'll want to be avoiding gunfights at all costs, so chances are you may have more 7.62x39 ammo in stock than you really need.

One other thing to consider is how much food and water purification supplies you have stored up. These could be more of a priority but you've been waiting until you had more money to beef up your supplies. The answer to your money problems may have just come along with the 7.62x39 ammo in stock shortages.
