How can you keep boredom at bay while working long hours as a night security guard at an underground facility

The times are tough. I find it difficult to navigate the market of gig economy as well as the old one. I was doing very well before the pandemic hit, but now, as well as my main position as a dental assistant, i need to take on a night-time position as security guard at an adjacent manufacturing plant for machines. The plant is mostly automated. Two engineers and me are part of the night-crew. I have an emergency phone number to dial in the event of an accident or if machinery stops functioning. Next, I call engineers or dial an outside number to find more engineers. I don't really do anything. It's true that they're not even creating anything of value and so nighttime guards are really just an attendant on a switchboard..

in all likelihood, I kind of like it. It's peaceful. Even though I'm an insomniac, I sometimes wake up from excessive gas release during the night. In this area, however, it is quiet. While nights can be dull I attempt to speed up the process by trying out new activities. For example, the last 2 weeks, I've working on an Tik Tok dance. It's not hard, but it's hard for me to recreate the dance. This dance was taught to me by a young Tik Tok sister, and therefore it's difficult. I'm way too old to understand the dance.

I've been playing with various videos on fixing cars recently. Although I'm not sure how to apply these techniques to my vehicle immediately I do like watching people fix their vehicles. DIY videos are extremely instructive and simple to follow. And so I started running into another problem. My phone would cease functioning, and I could not watch any videos or perform other useful activities. It seems I was able to download videos from Youtube and put them on my phone, and then during internet disappeared hours, I could watch DIY videos directly from my phone. You are able to view the video on your smartphone regardless of whether it is streaming on Youtube or other online. If you download videos at work, you are able to view it from your smartphone when you don't have internet access. It's as easy as adding DVR to stream your online videos.

In the realm about TV, I found out the ability to download new episodes, or even movies, directly onto my personal computer. I brought my laptop to work due to its bigger screen as well as more powerful speakers. ytmp 3 It's so much easier to watch TV shows there. I signed up with HULU, and now I have Netflix and Hulu. Both offer the ability to install their app and instead of watching some movie, you can mark it for download, and put it off after a couple of hours, depending on the duration of the show as well as the quality choices you choose the show will be transferred to your device and will be available to watch any time with or with no internet connection. I even now watch the TV while I commute to work. It's just 15 minutes, but it allows me to catch up on one of the episodes I've fallen asleep to last night.

There are a variety of interesting or educational items I can get at home and bring along to work to make the time fly by quicker. I love YouTube's webinars on different self-improvement techniques however, it's a challenge to watch 1hr video that's interrupted multiple times and yet keep up with what they're trying to convey. If you're familiar with what I'm talking about... In such situations I once attempt to make a plan at home, download Youtube video as mp4 file to my laptop and then watch it at any time during work. There are no restrictions on wifi, no wifi needed at all the video is recorded on my laptop there is no risk of it going bad no matter how spotty the wifi, it is not necessary in my case.

My son often goes with me to work. These are the days when my spouse has her shift at night and it's impossible to not leave for home. So, I bring him with me and set him up in front of the screens on my computer that I keep an eye on. He sleeps within minutes. I then give him my laptop that includes a couple of music videos I just downloaded. He sits down to watch the crazy young artists on screen. I'm happy to do my thing with the phone, but he wakes up. This is the way we can get along more effectively, doing our own task. It's possible he loves coming with me. Perhaps because he tends to be up all late at night.
