A "course in wonders is false" is really a strong assertion that will require a heavy dive in to the states, viewpoint, and influence of A Course in Wonders (ACIM). ACIM, a spiritual self-study program compiled by Helen Schucman in the 1970s, occurs as a religious text that seeks to help individuals achieve inner peace and spiritual change through a series of lessons and an extensive philosophical framework. Experts disagree that ACIM's basis, methods, and answers are problematic and ultimately… Continue

Without a checklist there are many important aspect in our home that we can take for granted that could contribute to our home energy inefficiency and high power cost. Sometimes turning off our appliances including our air condition are not just enough in order to save energy, because oftentimes when we receive our monthly power bills it is still high, although it may have decreased but the amount is immaterial compare to the total cost.

Here is some of the aspect at your home that needs to be checked to improve home energy efficiency:

  • Home Window Tinting-

Check your windows if the window films are all in tact and whether the window tint is not enough to block the heat from the outside. Make sure that your windows are installed with the most advance and appropriate window film to keep your home cool and keep your interior furnishings from fading.

  • Efficient Light Bulbs-

This is important but commonly neglected energy and money saving strategy. On the average a household can save $36 for each CFL Bulbs being used over an incandescent bulb. On the hand the Incandescent Bulbs last approximately 2000- 3000 hours, while the CFL or the Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs are guaranteed to last approximately 8000 hours, much better than an ordinary bulb.

  • Heating Controls-

Make sure that your heating device is functioning well because if it is not, then you keep on plugging it for a longer hour that may lead to higher power consumption especially during winter time. Monitor the increase of the temperature in your thermostat and for how long it takes to increase the temperature.

  • Loft Insulator-

Especially this coming summer make sure that your attic is properly insulated. We cannot deny that due to climate change the heat of Sun can even penetrate our homes through our roof. It is recommended to insulate your roof to minimize or insulate your roof from absorbing heat that may penetrate inside your house causing you to increase your air conditioning cost during summer.

  • Whole House Design

Above all recommended to seek an advice from an architect if or a license home designer on how to redesign your home to make it more energy efficient. Often times the poor design of our homes is the main cause of high power cost. Check if during day time you need to switch on the light because it is still dark inside your receiving room or perhaps in your kitchen or dining room. Perhaps the window tinting needs to be changed to absorbed more light during day time without compromising the blocking heat from absorbing our homes.
