Hollywood directors plan to boycott Warner Bros

Hollywood directors will boycott Warner Bros over their plans to release the film through HBO Max. The Covid-19 pandemic that has not yet passed has made many Hollywood film studios rack their brains so as not to experience many losses. Warner Bros. is no exception.

Recently, the film studio that produced WONDER WOMAN 1984 plans to launch its film premiering in 2021 on 2 platforms, namely cinema and streaming HBO Max. The plan for screening on these 2 platforms was initially only for the 1984 film WONDER WOMAN, but Warner Bros. felt that the plan was feasible to use in 2021. This caused a lot of reactions from film activists, especially the director.

Based on a report from The New York Times, many actors and film agencies were not informed about this Warner Bros. plan. Only actress Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins know this news, because it was originally planned to show the film on these 2 platforms for their film, WONDER WOMAN 1984.

From the point of view of the directors, Warner Bros.'s decision is very detrimental to them. The directors are already preparing the film to be shown in theaters. They've put all their thoughts into the film. According to director Christopher Nolan, Warner Bros.'s decision is very unreasonable. He even dared to say that HBO Max is a 'cheeky' streaming platform.
