HIGHLAND HEIGHT, Ky. — A 21-year-old North Kentucky college student has started his own internet business.
Isaiah Kelly custom design and restores shoes turn out to be studying for classes.
“So what’s really crazy is that I was not into art at all, ” Kelly said, with a brush within his hand painting some shoes. I never thought n a million years I'd be sitting here painting like a professional a shoe. ”
Kelly affirms his outlook has altered in recent days.
“My first major the following at NKU was graphic design which within the school of the arts. I didn't like it so much that I switched my major like following your first semester. ”
For Kelly that's an experience during the freshman year at Northern Kentucky University while he also worked at the shoe store.
“I could not care about shoes or clothes but I imagine being around shoes 40 hours 1 week I just fell within love with shoes. going into my freshman year or so of college I employ to look up the best way shoes for cheap in YouTube just cause I am just really frugal with my money, ” Kelly reported.
Kelly said that’s when he found a video on developing designs and customizing footwear. “Now I love fine art. I see the artwork in everything. Every time I see a set of shoes. Right now we complete shoes be we eventually can do phone cases, hats, t-shirts, we can do everything, ” Kelly reported.
Kelly has a love for restoring and customizing shoes or boots but needed to discover ways to develop a balanced business-oriented help system. He acquired those skills by taking part in the university's Inkubator Program which provides resources on growing a small business.
“Something that we created for our students is the capability to test it out and about and that’s something that when you’re getting yourself into entrepreneurship and you do not have a support structure such as this, it’s very challenging, ” said Zac Strobl, Center regarding Innovation and Entrepreneur during NKU.
For Kelly, he’s transformed his challenges in to a meaningful and rewarding occupation all before graduating school.
“I think that’s the coolest thing to do. Just knowing that another person appreciates my creativity and it is willing to not only pay for it but wear the item themselves, ” Kelly mentioned.
The entrepreneur said he’s completed a minimum of 50 orders of customized shoes and earned $10, 000 since his start only a year ago.
