Now at version 18.8, project controls planners & schedulers use Primavera P6 Professional to manage construction projects big and small around the globe. The Primavera P6 download process will let you download a free trial of Primavera P6 Project Management. And we’ll take you through the Primavera P6 download and install process step-by-step.

Let’s get Primavera P6 Professional installed on your PC now. I’ll take you through the steps.
I also suggest that you set the base currency of your database now, as it can’t be changed later. Simply enter in the currency name, the symbol and the country.
Those are the steps to download Primavera P6 and to get you up and running with a full version free trial copy of the tool. I know it’s a bit tricky at times, but hopefully you can get through it without problems.
1) Create an Oracle Account.
Here’s what you’ll need to get started with downloading a free trial of Primavera P6:

Run setup.exe .
That’s it! You’ve downloaded Primavera P6, installed it and got the full version ready to go!
I extracted mine using 7zip tools, which I really like for helping to create & extract zip files.
1) Extract the Application Zip Files.
A working copy of Windows 7 / 8 / 10. Primavera P6 does not run on Macs. Enough free disk space. You’ll need around 700 megabytes for the downloads and the install files. About 20 minutes. It’ll probably take that long to get everything up and running.

Also, if you’d like your database to setup with some sample projects, check “ Load Sample Data “. Else, you’ll get a completely empty database with your trial version of Primavera P6.
Next, on the checkout screen, you’ll see a list of items.
Now you’ll be presented with a long list of packages.
I highly recommend you read through Oracle’s Terms so you know what you are agreeing to.
On the next screen, right-click the links and save the Primavera P6 download files to your PC.
I extracted the Primavera P6 application install zip files their own folder on my desktop.

Click Continue. Then, go ahead an get logged in to the eDelivery portal.
Confirm your platform (the only option is likely Microsoft Windows x64).
You’ll see the install progress bars flash quickly.
Hi Miguel, I believe Oracle’s terms indicate the trial is 30 days. Of course, they may update those terms at any time, so please read them.
We’ll be installing the SQLite version which is very straightforward to install. No fancy database engines needed.
Now click Continue .
We’re almost done.
Now click Checkout in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
2) Run the setup.
Primavera P6 installs with a database in the backend. But don’t worry.
Click Add to Cart .
On the following screen, you get to set your administrative username and password.

I am a very small consulting firm of 4 people; I have used P6 in my prior career as a contractor and still find it very useful, however I cannot afford the steep price for licensing. Are there ever discounts or special offers for licensing from Oracle?
Make sure you choose “ P6 Pro standalone (SQLite) ” from the dropdown list.
In the results list, look for “ Primavera P6 Professional Project Management “. That is the window-based version of Primavera P6 that everyone uses.

3) Configure the SQLite database for Primavera P6.
But SQLite is a database in a file. So only a single file is installed….cool eh.
Go through the registration process and eventually you’ll get an email confirming your account.
Navigate to the \P6_Pro_R188 directory and find the file setup.exe .

Hi Matt, It is expensive. However, you can buy a 1 or 2 year license of the P6 for a considerable discount. A 1-year license is $500 USD. A 2-year license is $875 USD. It’s the perpetual license that is costly at $2500 USD. Keep in mind that you’d be required to pay the 1st year maintenance fee of $550 (although perhaps it could be waived).
