Due to the number of houses that Handy cleans, we have first-hand k.... One place that is often overlooked is the office. People have the feeling that they don’t do much in there, so it can’t be that dirty. Well, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Certainly, most people know that the keyboard and mouse are crawling with nasties. As such, they clean them quite often. However, there are other places that can get just as dirty. For the record, we are assuming if you are reading this, that you work from home and have several different things than a normal person would in their computer room.

Copier

Your printer/copier/fax machine is much dirtier than you think. If you wash your keyboard and mouse on a regular basis, then you should consider this as well. Keeping your records straight and communication with clients will often find you using this fine machine. The same dirty hands that you use to work on your keyboard and mouse will be the same hands you use on the copier too. Make sure when you clean your keyboard and mouse that you give this the old once over as well.

Desktop

Let’s be honest, if you are working from home you don’t take a normal lunch break as you would at a real job. Chances are, you just make yourself something to eat and continue working through lunch. This will allow for many things to get all over your desktop. As most desktops are dark in color, you may not see them unless they are really bad. We promise you that there are drips of coffee on that thing right now. If you were to take a white cloth to it, then you would see just how dirty it is. Take the time to clean your desktop off every now and then just to make sure you are keeping things looking great in your office.

Coffee Mugs

Some people drink straight black coffee. They think of this as nothing more than stained water. Therefore, they do not clean it as often as they should. In addition to staining your cup permanently, this is a really bad habit to get into. The moisture that sits in the cup has a way of attracting smells and other things into it. So, when you don’t clean the cup, you are drinking all that nasty stuff. At the end of your workday, make sure that you take the coffee mug to the kitchen for a proper cleaning. If you don’t have enough of them and just do it out of not wanting to buy another one, consider going to the dollar store.
