While multiple Air Jordan retros 1 to 14 drop on any given year, the sneaker that celebrates its 23-year anniversary is the one that gets the most attention. Last year saw a blowout of multiple Air Jordan 4 colorways that were easy cops by sneakerheads and in 2013 we will see the Air Jordan 5 get the same treatment. With the “Fire Red” kicking things off, speculation has been running rampant as to what other colorways, both OG and new, will be hitting retail. The popular “Grape” colorway is coming down the pipeline later this year (hell, our own Big Boss Khan already has a pair) but the word is that something similar might also be making its way to our feet (well, those who hustle will get it). Essentially the same colorway as the “Grape” but what was once white is now black; this alleged new Air Jordan 5 is going to be a guaranteed hit in the sneaker community. Emphasis on “alleged.”
All we have to go by at the moment are render images and customs that were done prior to any of this news breaking. But assuming we are getting “home” and “away” versions of the “Grape” colorway, which once is a more important pickup for you? OG heads will surely side with the shoe that is actually confirmed to come out, but a black version – which can also be considered an “Aqua” colorway – would be no slouch. Right now, anybody that owns a Charlotte Hornets snapback is losing their damn minds now thinking of the possibilities…
Let us know what you think in the comments section below. It’s called “Clash of the Kicks” for a reason…
Theadidas NMD made its debut last month in a sleek all-black colorway that featured minimal color contrast on the midsoles. Aside from the all-black colorway there’s also a strong possibility that we may see an all-white version release some time this year.
We received some more interesting information today regarding the NMD with the news that we would be seeing a triple black colorway that will even black out the Boost midsole that has remained white since its inception. The midsole won’t be the only part of the shoe getting hit with color though, new images have surfaced of a yellow colorway that features slight black and white detailing along with a white midsole. The first image of that said colorway is pictured above but we still do not have a release date. What are your thoughts on adidas adding some color to the Primeknit upper of the NMD?
