Going on a long, faraway vacation? Make sure to pack digital media in case the WiFi is down

This is a tale of my last excursion to the Arctic via boat. It sounded fantastic, National Geographic trip thru the ice and back with polar bears, and several other wildlife. There would be the ice everywhere, and snow all around. Man-made machines were going to fight the elements, and cut through the northern desert that was frozen. It sounded incredible, like an epic combat against the weather north and the pole.

I was told to take along all the tech I could fit in my luggage. I did manage to pack my laptop, as well as an enormous screen to extend my work area. They assured me that electricity wasn't a problem. I was unsure what was to come for me. I didn’t know that just two days into my 14-day trial and my Internet connection would drop and I would be without internet access for the next 10 consecutive days. It was a complete shock to me when it occurred. Any trip, no matter how far away or difficult will result in the loss of connection from technology. Not only have I got unfinished work to handle over the next week but I also didn't prepare myself for the downtime.

It doesn't matter if people have to disconnect from the internet. Internet is everywhere. In the event that your home connection has temporary problems, it is possible to go to an nearby McDonalds and make use of their free WiFi connection to do what you require. You could even take your laptop and sit down in the cafe at Starbucks for the rest of your life or sit down at a table and browse the Internet to the extent you want. But, no restaurant, cafe or cafe can assist you in the north. They're a long way from the nearest shack, with the electricity produced by an ineffective generator. There is no free Internet available. There are two options to get out from these situations. You can be offline, or get the internet via satellite.

I can't afford to purchase a satphone, it is expensive, particularly for Internet. I'll create an audio and video library for my next adventure without Internet. Last time , I only had two songs. The songs were downloaded at the time, and all I was able to listen to were three jazz songs and a song I had no idea the name of. That's all. 4 tunes for 2 weeks of no-things.. If I had known this was going to happen, I would have prepared. I would have packed my laptop with shows from TV and movies, as well as a plethora of music videos and simply audio files loaded with music and podcasts. I could listen to my favourite podcasts for hours. It's simple to download them, convert them to mp3 and save to my laptop, then simply lay in my room listening to whatever I like to listen to at home, but rarely have the time. This could have been my golden hour, or 2 weeks of gold, but it ended up being 2 weeks of looking at the ceiling and running out to greet passengers every whenever a sound makes its way through the corridors..

Both literally and metaphorically The journey was empty. Never have I been so bored. I was aware that the issue was going to be caused by the thick ice, and so the boat had turn around and be pulled back to the shores of civilization. This was not a surprise however, again, endless hours of idle time could have been spent beneficially watching podcasts, listening to DIY videos on home fixing, and simply listening to music. The next time I'll convert YouTube videos into MP4 and mp3 on my computer. Music can lift your spirits. Remember that Hulu as well as Netflix apps allow you to download shows and movies to stream offline. These can also be viewed on the long trip across the Arctic. Don't let boredom bring you down. https://ytmp3.com.de Best of luck!
