ContinueGodzilla vs Kong has arrived on HBO Max , two hours of slapping and slapping between the most famous monsters of the MonsterVerse.
One of the biggest revelations of the film is that of the true villain, who are neither Godzilla nor Kong but Mechagodzilla , a man-made mechanical monster that has a long tradition in the Godzilla universe but that nobody expected.
If you're here, you should have seen the full movie by now. However, if you have arrived by mistake, do not continue reading and watch the movie before continuing reading because we are going to gut you.
Before we get into the creation of Mechagodzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong, let's run through the character's backstory.
Mechagodzilla was created in 1974 by the Japanese film and theater production company Toho. Toho was the study behind Godzilla and the other monsters that the atomic titan faced. He envisioned Mechagodzilla as a more powerful villain than his two predecessors, Gigan and Megalon. Toho considered this duo a visual disaster and being a robot, Mechagodzilla was cheaper to build compared to the monsters Godzilla was fighting at the time.
