General Purpose Silicone Sealants

General Purpose Silicone Sealant comes in several different forms, each with their own sets of benefits and drawbacks. In addition to being a flexible medium, it is also an extremely thick and tough material, suitable for many different uses and applications. The most common types are silicone gels, which seal small gaps or cracks in your equipment or piping. In addition to this, general purpose silicone has also been found to be successful in sealing larger openings such as those found in the valves of cooling systems, pumps and other plumbing applications. These sealants are also particularly effective at sealing water pipes.

General Purpose Silicone Sealer. Heng's General Purpose Silicone Sealant (GP-S) is a high 100% solid medium with a semi-flexible consistency, similar in feel to baby oil. It permanently cures into a hard, rubbery, durable solid upon contact with liquid, either coming from the air or the water. Like most types of general purpose silicone sealant, it works by adhering to the surrounding surface, while providing a firm and even covering.

Silicone Adhesive. Silicone Adhesive (aka. 'SOLICIP') is used to adhere objects together with the use of heat. This type of general purpose silicone sealant has strong adhesive qualities and will adhere to almost any substance, while it is also able to provide a rigid surface to cure.

Acetoxy Cure Silicone Sealing. This form of general purpose silicone sealant has been found to be especially effective in preventing mould growth around electrical panels, ventilation ducts, pipe joints and fire escape. Like Heng's GP silicone, this form of silicone has both the high strength waterproof sealant qualities as well as the ability to form a smooth, firm covering on any surface upon curing. Like other forms of GP silicone, it also works with ease after welding and can be used as an adhesive for repairing steel bars and pipes.

High Mixture Adhesive. This form of general purpose silicone sealant that adheres to most smooth and non-porous materials. As with other forms of anti-fungal compounds, this high Mixture Adhesive has the ability to form a firm, non-porous surface to cure. However it also has the flexibility to become sticky if it is placed on an irregular surface such as an oiled area or rough garage flooring.

High Density Adhesive. This form of anti-fungal compound has a higher molecular weight than many common adhesives and can form a highly resistant bond when combined with other substances such as high humidity damp proofing, concrete sealants and HTV silicone rubber and plastic products. The properties of high density adhesive allow it to prevent mould growth and the ability to create a smooth and non-porous bond. As with other forms of anti-fungal compounds this high Density Adhesive can be sticky if it becomes moist if placed on an irregular surface.
