'Gaming disorder' trivialises real mental medical concerns, the ESA say

The ESA have answered the WHO's recent naming of two new videogames-related mental health disorders in their revised International Compendium of Diseases.The ESA repeat the decision is just not justified through the evidence, and risks trivialising genuine mental health concerns.These will be the best PC games of 2017.
The ESA's statement, as reported by Gamasutra, reads as follows:"Just like avid sports fans and consumers of forms of engaging entertainment, gamers are passionate and dedicated making use of their time. Having captivated gamers more than four decades, greater than two billion people all over the world enjoy games."The World Health Organization recognizes that common sense and objective research prove video gaming are not addictive. And, putting that official label to Buy Kronos Gold them recklessly trivializes real mental medical concerns like depression and social panic attacks, which deserve treatment and the complete attention with the medical community. We strongly encourage the WHO to reverse direction on its proposed action."
The Entertainment Software Association undoubtedly are a public affairs group representing the US games industry. They organise E3 each year, and count many leading developers among their membership.O
