Compared to other music genres, funk perhaps downplays their guitarists the most, as the distinctive sound of funk focuses more on beat and duplication rather than extended, drawn-out solos. He's really an inductee of the Stone and Roll Corridor of Celebrity and was also placed 43rd in Moving Rock magazine's 100 Best Guitarists of All Time list.
