Fortnite reaches ten million players

Epic Games' today announced that Fortnite Battle Royale has reached ten million players.

The free-to-play game has amassed a considerable base since its launch just fourteen days ago, placing itself in Fortnite Skins direct competition with PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds being de facto head from the battle royale playground.

Despite currently remaining quite a distance behind PUBG, Fortnite earlier this week peaked at 525,000 concurrent players, plus a total of 3.7 million active users within a day across all platforms.

This news comes after that PUBG made yet more headlines topping 15 million copies sold and peaking at nearly two million concurrent players on Fortnite Weapons Steam earlier this week. PUBG's growth appears almost unstoppable, having reached ten million sales merely a month prior.

However, Fortnite could represent some stiff competition in the end as the users list grows as well as its free-to-play model interests new players above the $30 sale price of PUBG.
