I can push it down a little bit further no damage to the top of the piston at all but i can tell i can see doesn't look that the valves were hitting it at all it's kind of hard to get past down here it doesn't look too bad to me at all air filter cleaner so i think we're gonna take apart the top end and uh just check it out all right let's try to get this cam cover off first looks like there are two allens right here a couple breather hoses at the top a couple allen bolts holding that cam cover on hammer action cam cover coming off can she come out without taking off anything else that's good cam chain's nice and tight guys the tensioner is good.

Air Filters, Is Using No Oil Or Too Much Oil Best?

Let's put this thing atop dead center and check those valve clearances i have a feeling they're going to be tight you can see in there it looks pretty good cam chain but millimeter of slack in there that's perfect everything looks really good cam sprockets are nice and sharp all right let's rotate this over we gotta find tapped its center down here making a little oil get the little cap off right there all right and then look for top dead center in there where is top dead center at i'll see if it's timed properly too you guys can see the t in there there with the line let's do it all right that's top dead center right there let's check the valve clearances.

Air Filter Maintenance Done Right!

Here i have a feeling it's the crank causing this problem crank bearings just a feeling all right we're going to look at the valve specs on this and then check those clearances all right so the specs looks like intake is 0.1 millimeters to 0.15 millimeters exhaust is point one seven millimeters to point two two millimeters so let's check the intake first we gotta set the point one that one's fine hard to get in there that one's fine all right now the exhaust the exhaust is 0.17 to 0.22 find the point one seven millimeters right here see what that looks like here and we'll do the exhaust that one barely fits in there that one's kind of tight that one's pretty tight see if i can get one in here that one's fine that one slipped right in yeah so this the right the right exhaust is tight everything else looks fine so we'll continue to tear this thing down all right we've got this thing at top dead center check out the timing here it looks pretty much spot on got the one dot right here one dot parallel to the head and you've got the one dot right there and the one that right there so that's vertical vertical parallel parallel to the head so that's looking pretty good so timing spot on let's get these cams out of here and uh see if it's easier to turn over without the valves because maybe it's just that tight valve causing the problem i highly doubt it but never know so let's get the cam chain tensioner off first that's out of there those look good very smooth no scratches that surface looks smooth no gouges or scratches no imperfections
