Mechanical face seals, sometimes called Toric seals, are usually of two types, both of which consist of two interlocking faces of interlocking metal rings that are placed face to face in contact with each other and are kept with the help of a rubber ring - Toric- in two separate places. This forms the seal set. Of the two halves, half of the face seal remains stationary, and the other turns its opposite face during use in a combined state.
