Mechanical surfaces - Floating seals consist of two metal surfaces with inherently good metal properties and are machined with a technique of forming a sealing surface while the surfaces are held in rotationally sliding contact by two elastomer energizers on both sides. The system always seals media inputs from both sides in both in run and in-static conditions to form Mechanical Face Seals. Actual sealing occurs between metal rings that are actually floating between compressed energy supply systems.
