Floating seals are simple products consisting of two components: a seal ring made of special cast iron and a rubber part (O-ring / gasket). Two identical seals are used. The sealing component, which is a sliding component, is supported by a rubber component, so it does not come into contact with the shaft, so it closely follows the radial and propulsive motion of the shaft.
The seal ring was developed for slurry application, so it is made of very hard, wear and corrosion resistant material. Rubber parts press the sliding surface of the seal ring and also act as a seal. Therefore, longer life is made of materials that are resistant to low temperatures and heat, which have very few compression settings.
