Now that Porsche has, once again, upped the ante on the performance front with the 991.2 Turbo S and Lamborghini has delivered the rear-wheel-drive incarnation of the Huracan, the two supercars can now shake hands while occupying the 580 hp seat in the VW Group house.

Now that Porsche has, once again, upped the ante on the performance front with the 991.2 Turbo S and Lamborghini has delivered the rear-wheel-drive incarnation of the Huracan, the two supercars can now shake hands while occupying the 580 hp seat in the VW Group house.

Then again, these two are velocity monsters, so, instead of polite gestures, we expect them to attack each other in a bloody (if you consider 98-octane gas blood, that is) family brawl.

Such a fight is the very reason we've brought you here today, as we want to show you a drag race between a 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S and a Lamborghini Huracan LP580-S.

The two used an airfield runway as a battlefield and, since they went for a rolling start, the Zuffenhausen machine's all-wheel-drive advantage didn't count.

On paper, the RWD Raging Bull tops the rear-engined supercar in terms of the power-to-weight ratio, as the first comes with 2.7 kg per PS, while the latter offers 2.9 kg per PS.

Nevertheless, the pair of variable-geometry turbines (now using a civilian anti-lag system) serving the Porsche's 3.8-liter flat-six give the Porsche a hefty torque advantage, with its 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) easily topping the 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of the naturally aspirated V10 Lambo.

Before heading over to the video below to see the two supercars going at it, we want to remind you not to treat the 911 as the more affordable one. While the LP580-2 comes with an MSRP of $199,000, the 991.2 Turbo S comes with a starting price of $188,100 - ten grand are worth nothing among supercar-driving friends.

As for what would happen if the Huracan had its "standard" LP610-4 badge, we probably won't have to wait too long for such an adventure to be caught on camera.
