Broadband Service Providers face challenges from many directions. Subscriber activation costs are high; support costs are out of line with revenues; and revenues are low and declining. The Dimark TR-069 ACS directly addresses these pain-points by enabling the automatic activation of, and remote management of broadband, VoIP, IPTV, network storage and LAN devices.

The ACS is a TR-069 Amendment 5 standards-based solution designed to centralize the management, control, monitoring, and delivery of broadband services to CPE. By supporting CPE devices that support the TR-069 network management standards, the ACS simplifies device configuration, remote management, and service activation.

The ACS enables service providers to offer value-added services such as home networking, security, Voice over IP, as well as speed-based service levels. These can now be deployed at the CPE and centrally managed via the the ACS, helping broadband service providers to increase their Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

Scalable Architecture
Built on an industry proven Application Server architecture, the ACS is scalable, allowing it to support a virtually unlimited number of CPE devices. As it’s based on widely deployed application server and database technologies, the same load balancing, clustering and failure recovery techniques used to provide massive scalability, and improved reliability and availability for large-scale web sites and enterprise applications are applicable to accommodate a growing customer base.

The ACS is based on J2EE is available for the JBoss application server, with, Oracle and MySQL databases running on Linux, Unix, Solaris (SPARC and x86), and Windows operating systems.

Open Architecture Reduces Time to Market
The ACS can either be implemented as middleware to be interoperable with existing OSS, Help Desk and NOC systems through XML, SOAP or EJB3, or deployed as a standalone server that leverages the ACS’s GUI SDK to quickly create a customized web based interface. In either case, the the ACS can be quickly up and running, minimizing time to market.
