One of those misty-eye inducing type of games. Escape from the dungeons of the evil Grand Vizier Jaffar and rescue the fair princess before he lures her away with smooth talk about smashing orangey bits. The catch is you only have an hour to do it in. One hour of your life, that isn't much is it? How wrong we all were.
Prince Of Persia embodied pixel poetry in motion, and you couldn't fail to be impressed as your little hero leaped, shuffled and clambered his way through the dungeon. The game featured strong level design, incredibly fluid gameplay and some genuinely taxing puzzles. Probably the game most responsible for wide-eyed people walking around muttering, "shuffle, shuffle, jump, spike shuffle, leap, grab ledge, pull up," under their breath.
Prince of Persia has a password feature so you can play at your leisure. If you are into sword fights and labyrinth puzzling, then this game is right lor you.
Press Button A and the 0-Pad to take short, careful steps. Not all potions restore your life meter. Some take a unit away. Others will add to your meter. Replay a level until you get your best time. Write down that password and use it for your continues.

Jaffar, the villainous Prime Minister, has snatched your Princess and is holding her hostage in the Sultan's palace. He's trying to take over the kingdom while the Sultan is away. As the Prince, your mission is to rescue the Princess and put an end to Jaffar and his plans. Oh. you have one hour.
Overview.
A right little gem of a game.
Partially due to the Prince's movements, the controls are just a little bit awkward. Pressing left or right will make the Prince sprint in that direction, while pressing up will jump. There's an additional button which will let you tiptioe (useful for getting close to edges) and to grab onto ledges.
Into The Palace.
The petty poobah has turned everyone in the palace against you. Don't expect any help. Everything from skeletal warriors to the sultan's guard is looking for you with murder on their minds. There's no negotiating — just hard core sword slinging. Let your opponents begin their attack, then hack away as soon as they are in range (but belore they begin to strike).

One of the most famous PC games, Prince of Persia is just as big and adventurous on the Sega CD. Thrown in the Sultan's dungeons, you must find a sword and escape to rescue the princess from the evil Jafar.
The Prince of Persia is one of the most famous video game titles of all times. It's no surprise that it is finally making an appearance on Game Gear. The side of view, horfzontal and vertical scroll format of the game make it a perfect title for the tittle screen. Fans of the Prince will find that this version is faithful to the plot and theme of the PC original. The figure of the Prince is one of the most highly animated Game Gear figures ever. His walking, climbing, crouching and fighting movements approach cartoon quality.
You begin in the deepest depths of the dungeon, where you have been placed to keep you out of the way This level is the first of fourteen. Hard core Prince of Persia players will recognize some levels, but most are brand new. Ahead are winding labyrinths of tunnels, ledges, spiked pits, trap doors, walls of flame, and other obstacles that are instantly lethal. Death in this game comes suddenly. Search the first level carefully to find the sword. You won't get far without it.
Game Overview.
The game's not all about jumping over platforms - a fair amount of it revolves around sword fighting. After you snag your sword in the first level, you'll face a plethora of guards. These encounters are extraordinarily difficult at first, but you'll get the hang of them eventually. You can either attack or parry with your sword, but your opponent can do the same. Sword fighting requires splendidly fast reflexes and a keen eye to determine when to defend and strike. Even at the beginning of the game, the guards are pretty vicious. Initially you can only take three hits, but with a bit of exploration, you can find potions that lengthen your life meter.
Veteran gamers should not be surprised that Prince of Persia has finally found its way to the Genesis. The way has been paved by versions for the Sega CD and Game Gear, and on PCs before that. The game is famous. and Tengen's version is a faithful pon of at has made Prince of Persia popular. Even the music and funky control patterns are identical.
The original Prince of Persia game is one of my favorites ever. I remember playing it on my newly bought PC and sometimes getting frustrated, but nonetheless the release was a fantastic game and is still a classical release that everybody remembers. The character can fight enemies, jump over walls, avoid traps and, in the end, find the way to the following levels. The protagonist of the game has no name, but the Princess is in love with him, and this is why he has to save her from the dungeon, in less than 60 minutes.

Prince of Persia.
Played in real time, Prince of Persia gives you exactly one hour of game time to master its secrets and reach your objective. Using animation modeled after the movements of real people, creator Jordan Mechner has crafted an intriguing game which not only looks wonderful, it has the feel of an old adventure film, with you in the title role. Are you up to the challenge?
