1) You can't put an AMD processor in an Intel socket. 2) The Atom is already BGA soldered to the motherboard, and not removable.
Amd Vision Processor.

Its almost equivalent to a high end Core2Duo or Core i3, so it is good enough performance wise for a mobile processor.
A laptop has an AMD Phenom™ II Triple-Core Mobile N830 processor (2.1GHz). It also says AMD vision premium on the logo. Can anyone tell me what this means? How does this compare to intel? Is it a fast processor?

The VISION Premium is just a branding that AMD introduced to ease the newbies.. VISION.
look at the spec of ur lappy and read the processor types can handle usually says the socket,and the processors,but if fits i`ll go for AMD,for sure. usually are double,triple,quadruple,processors,in to 1,and that`s the beauty on amd.
