As of now, Desktop Central can Patch only 64 bit version of Java if both 32 and 64 bit got installed in the same box. We have tried our best to patch both the version of Java, but we keep getting the error message "System cannot find the file".

I've requested team to add this requirement in the product road map.

In our organization we have chosen to decline JAVA Patches from DTC and instead create a Software Deployment manually by:

1. downloading the 32 and 64 Bit versions from JAVA

2. Extracting the MSI file

3. Create DTC Software deployment using MSI and install switch:

JU=0 JAVAUPDATE=0 AUTOUPDATECHECK=0 REBOOTYesNo=No

Found that using the DTC template enables auto update from JAVA and you would have to run the DTC config template to disable JAVA Auto update.

Once you create both 32 and 64 bit deployments you can then deploy both to all your systems. Recommend a pre-deployment task to uninstall old versions or a post deployment script to uninstall older versions.
