Diesel Engines for Sale at Low Price (New & Used Engine)

If you're looking for a new or used diesel engine, we're the place to come. Our engines' key features are high performance, efficiency, corrosion resistance, lightweight, and high-speed functionality. We can make certain that you obtain the most dependable and efficient engine for your money. We take pride in having millions of dollars worth of hand-selected power generation equipment in stock.

To maximize longevity and service intervals, our diesel motors are designed using OE-specified components. These diesel engines come in a variety of power strokes, including the 7.3, 6.0, 6.7, and 6.4 power strokes. Cars, huge tractors, DG Sets, freight vehicles, locomotives, heavy equipment, and marine vessels all use diesel fuel engines. Diesel engines are appropriate for all applications due to their high fuel efficiency.

All operating devices are powered by a diesel engine, which turns chemical energy into mechanical energy. They are more well-known than other gasoline engines because of their excellent efficiency. Diesel engines are also an excellent alternative for all applications due to their high fuel efficiency. Our company has one of the largest stocks of heavy-duty vehicles from manufacturers in the country.

Major types of diesel engines
Three basic size groups
Small, medium and big diesel engines are the three major size classes depending on power. The little engines produce less than 188 kilowatts of power or 252 horsepower. This is the most prevalent type of diesel engine on the market. These engines are found in automobiles, light trucks, some agricultural and construction applications, as well as tiny stationary electrical-power generators (such as those found aboard pleasure vessels) and mechanical drives. They're usually four- or six-cylinder direct-injection engines with four or six cylinders. Many of them have turbochargers and aftercoolers.

The power output of medium engines ranges from 188 to 750 kilowatts, or 252 to 1,006 horsepower. Heavy-duty trucks employ the majority of these engines. They're mainly six-cylinder turbocharged and aftercooled direct-injection engines. This size group also includes some V-8 and V-12 engines.

Large diesel engines may produce up to 750 kilowatts of electricity. These one-of-a-kind engines are employed in the marine, locomotive, mechanical drive, and electrical-power production applications. Direct injection, turbocharged, and aftercooled systems are the most common. When dependability and durability are important, they can run at as low as 500 revolutions per minute.
Two-stroke and four-stroke engines
Diesel engines, as previously stated, can run on either a two- or four-stroke cycle. The intake and exhaust valves, as well as the fuel injection nozzle, are all placed in the cylinder head of a standard four-stroke engine (see figure). Dual valve configurations are frequently used, with two intakes and two exhaust valves.

The two-stroke cycle can be used to delete one or both valves from an engine design. Ports in the cylinder liner are often used for scavenging and intake air. Exhaust can be routed through the cylinder head's valves or through apertures in the cylinder liner. When a port design is used instead of one that requires exhaust valves, engine building is simpler.

Fuel for diesel
Distillates made of heavy hydrocarbons, with at least 12 to 16 carbon atoms per molecule, are commonly utilized as diesel engine fuel. After the more volatile components used in gasoline are removed, the heavier distillates are extracted from crude oil. These heavier distillates have boiling points ranging from 177 to 343 °C (351 to 649 °F). As a result, they have a far greater evaporation temperature than gasoline, which contains fewer carbon atoms per molecule. The American Society of Testing and Materials publishes specifications for diesel fuels in the United States (ASTM). The ASTM D975 “Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils” covers the following five diesel fuel oil grades:

Clean fuel is necessary for successful injection systems; water and silt in fuels can be damaging to engine function. Low-speed rotation engines are suitable for handling fuels with a high carbon residue. Those with high ash and sulfur content are in the same boat. The ASTM D613 “Standard Test Method for Cetane Number of Diesel Fuel Oil” is used to determine the cetane number, which specifies a fuel's ignition quality.

Development of diesel engines
Early work
After looking for a way to improve the Otto engine's efficiency, German engineer Rudolf Diesel came up with the idea for the engine that bears his name (the first four-stroke-cycle engine, built by the 19th-century German engineer Nikolaus Otto). Diesel realised that the electric ignition process of a gasoline engine might be removed if air could be heated to a temperature higher than the auto-ignition temperature of a specific fuel during the compression stroke of a piston-cylinder system. In his patents from 1892 and 1893, Diesel envisioned such a cycle.

Initially, powdered coal or liquid petroleum were suggested as fuel options. Powdered coal, a by-product of the Saar coal mines, was seen as a readily available fuel by Diesel. Compressed air was supposed to be used to feed coal dust into the engine cylinder, but managing the rate of coal injection proved difficult, so Diesel resorted to liquid petroleum after the experimental engine was damaged by an explosion. With compressed air, he continued to inject fuel into the engine.

Price’s engine
In 1914, William T. Price, a young American engineer, began experimenting with an engine that would have a lower compression ratio than a diesel engine while also not requiring hot bulbs or tubes. He applied for patents as soon as his experiments began to show promise.

The specified compression pressure of roughly 1.4 megapascals (203 pounds per square inch) in Price's engine did not produce a high enough temperature to ignite the fuel charge during startup. In the combustion chamber, a thin wire coil provided ignition. Because it could easily be heated to incandescence when an electric current was put through it, nichrome wire was utilised. The experimental engine had a single horizontal cylinder with a bore of 43 cm (17 inches) and a stroke of 48 cm (19 inches) that rotated at 257 revolutions per minute. Because the nichrome wire needed to be replaced frequently, the compression pressure was increased to 2.4 megapascals (348 pounds per square inch), which provided a high enough temperature for ignition when starting. In order to enhance the cycle timing and maintain the nichrome wire burning hot, some of the fuel charges were injected before the conclusion of the compression stroke.
