Determining Quality Weed Using Touch

The level of competition between online dispensaries in Canada is so intense that those who sell marijuana of bad quality go out of business in no time at all. Despite this, not everyone is very lucky to always get good quality weed. Except you are an experienced user, dealers might jump at every opportunity to sell you their brick weed. It is thus, very important to learn to differentiate good quality from poor quality weed.

There are different techniques to differentiate good weed from bad weed. The aroma, taste, trichome count, bud structure and trim, etc. are all determining factors as to the quality of your weed. One factor that is hardly considered however, is touch.
Touch is one of the most undervalued means of determining the quality of cannabis. It is however through touch, that we can distinguish well-cured cannabis from the rush jobs. Described in this article is how you can identify quality weed using touch. If you want to know more about quality weed, I recommend you to browse this site.

1. Moisture

One of the first sensations that should be felt from a cannabis flower is a hint of moisture. Cannabis has a sugared appearance as a result of the crystal-like trichomes that surround them. However, unlike table sugar, these trichomes should have a slight but detectable moisture content.

Gently squeezing the bud is the best way to check the level of moisture of a flower. If the flower is of high quality, it will not give a crackling sound. There are some cannabis flowers that may be slightly sticky when touched.

2. Buoyancy

How your cannabis flower holds up under pressure is another determining factor of quality. The ability to rebound after the application of pressure is referred to as buoyancy. It is also a sign that your cannabis flower is of high quality. When pressure is gently applied to your cannabis flower, it is supposed to return slowly to its original shape. If the flower crumbles when pressure is applied, it means it is too dry, or too old, or both.

3. Stacking of the Buds

The bud is where the flower starts to form on the stem. As they individually begin to blossom into full maturity, the buds come together to form a dense structure. High quality buds have a rich appearance with plenty flower on the stem. Low quality flower, on the other hand, will not have strong stacking, and will have a sparser bud.

Although it is the look and smell of the cannabis flower that attracts your attention, what tells you whether or not the flower will give a comfy inhaled experience is its touch. Flower that is too old or too dry may contribute to a harsh vapor or smoke. You should never underestimate the potential effect that bad weed will have on your health. Smoking low-grade weed can be harsh on your throat and will not be any different from smoking tobacco instead.
