We may be home to a wide range of carpentry and joinery courses here at YTA – encompassing both five-day and 10-day options – but you don’t necessarily need to undertake any of these to significantly upgrade your qualifications.

That’s because, if you have already been a carpenter for five or more years, you could obtain a Cskills Awards NVQ Level 2 Carpentry Diploma in Wood Occupations(Construction) within the space of a day, when you pursue our fast-track assessment route. You can be up and running with site work in next to no time.

Requiring approximately one day of your time – or possibly two days – at our NOCN Cskills-approved centre in Yorkshire, our Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA) option will allow you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed to achieve an NVQ Level 2. Your skills will be evaluated on the basis of professional discussion, witness testimonies and the practical assessment.

Indeed, there are three mandatory units that constitute this Site Carpentry NVQ Level 2, relating to the essential matters of general workplace safety, efficient work practices and the moving and handling of resources.
